Top 40 ranked pg Tyty Washington decommitted from Creighton today and Jake Weingarten is reporting Georgetown already reached out.
He would be very difficult to land as a ton of schools already expressed interest. But notable news that the McDermott fallout probably cost CU a big time recruit and that GU is looking for pg help for next year.

It's a big loss for the Big East.

BE doesnt need Creighton to keep being at the top. BE is a top league with Nova, UConn, Gtown at the top. We need to kick Creighton while they are down.

The better overall number of good teams, the better the conference. Plus Creighton's style of play is exciting to watch unlike some other programs.

I don’t think I will ever really care about Butler, Creighton or Xavier in my lifetime.

I don’t think I will ever really care about Butler, Creighton or Xavier in my lifetime. I get that sentiment but what about Marquette & Depaul? Those were additions too. I never cared about V. Tech, Miami either but if they are good enough long enough, I'll care. Xavier I already hate because they have had our number. Butler is a very likeable program that is under-resourced but has one of the best venues in the country to watch a game. I think I can care about X & Butler, Creighton is much tougher just because of the distance and lack of common recruits.

Quette/Cincy was must see TV when DWade and KMartin were students.

Me personally, I love the Big East!! I have been a big fan of the Big East since just before the Ewing era. I always hope for the best for every Big East schools. The better our schools are in the conference, the better the conference. When I watch the big tournament, I cheer for all Big East schools and when they all exit from the tourney, I stop watching the tournament.
I miss the days when we had the best conference year in and year out and I so yearn for it just like I yearn for Georgetown basketball to return back to prominence. I miss all those former Big East schools like Cuse, West Virginia, Pitt, Notre Dame, Louisville. I even miss Cincy and South Florida!
I was sooooo happy when UConn came back and if I can have it my way, I would have all teams that were once a part of the original Big East and the teams that joined the Big East conference, over time, that are a part of the Atlantic seaboard be a part of the Big East. Though I do acknowledge the time when we had too many Big East teams, it weakened our league (that was the time when the Big East had two division to suit all the schools and not all schools played each other at least twice).
I think we had like something crazy like 16 schools during that time (Jahidi White was on the team, I think)! I think if we had like 12 teams, again and all those teams were good, we can be the "beast" of college basketball again. What I think hurts us is a few of the schools we have now are not a part of the Atlantic seaboard uhhmmm (Creighton) and the way they have aligned schools in conferences (because of money) doesn't make any sense.

I just went and check some sources and it appears we had 16 teams in the conference during the Jeff Green and as late as the Otto Porter era.

I think it is pretty clear that the staff feels they need to add to the point guard position for next year, with the reported interest in Lykes and now Washington, along with the other guys they have been linked to (Brantley, Neal etc). No doubt they are very happy with the way Dante has developed but I am sure they realize the need for depth at the position. Things could have really gone badly for this years team if Dante was not able to meet the challenge when Jalen Harris left the team and they were stuck without a true point guard to lead the team. Tyler Beard I think will be part of the mix at the PG position next year for the Hoyas but it makes sense to have 3 capable guys if possible.

I like the Washington fit better than Lykes
While I don't know everything about Washington's game, just the fact that he's 6'3 gives you a lot more flexibility and I'd assume he'd be able to even share the court with Dante if need be. Not getting my hopes up on him though

Eric Van Der Heijden de-committed from Louisville in the wake of Chris Mack firing Dino Gaudio and Luke Murray, he'd been recruited by Gaudio. Ranked around #200, but had a lot of high major interest. Hoyas weren't involved, but love his game and potential fit. 6'9 and a good shooter, pretty similar game to Pickett offensively. Though has a long way to go as a defender and rebounder.
Would also love to add Gaudio or Murray to the staff. Gaudio as a former head coach and strong recruiter in North Carolina, Murray to get Bill Murray at games.

I just watched the Tyty Washington interview and several short videos. I love his fun personality and the young man can really play. He would be an asset!

We seem to be reaching out to transfers, so I guess we’re not done recruiting for next season.
