The conditions, especially for the sprints, are brutal with rain, cold, and wind. 'Proof of that is the men's 100m:
Results Wind: 0.0 m/s Place Athlete Result Ln/Pos 1 Zachary Polk Xavier [JR] 10.79 10 Pts 5 2 Sterling Pierce Villanova [SO] 10.80 8 Pts 7 3 Russell Platt Xavier [SR] 10.82 6 Pts 6 4 Adam Nelson DePaul [FR] 10.87 5 Pts 2 5 Brandon Bell Marquette [SR] 11.00 4 Pts 8 6 Josh Pearson DePaul [FR] 11.11 3 Pts 1 7 Joshua Word Marquette [JR] 18.98 2 Pts 4 8 Connor Boos Marquette [SO] 1:11.28 1 Pt 3
Marquette lost Connor Boos in the 4x100 relay, but he was able to get the baton to the next runner. But since Marquette and DePaul are in a tight race, he started the 100m to get the 1 point, so he walked the 100m in 1 minute 11.28 seconds. In the same race Joshua Word also of Marquette pulled a hamstring and limped across the line.
