Keep trending up, doing what you're doing. Gi get the players you need and do your best to make the players you have better. All eyes are on this team. It is the most exciting basketball team in DC. We want you to succeed! Somebody tell that to the Wash Post. It and the MD basketball program need to get a room. There seems to be truth in what you say!

Watching PE on these shows today, does anyone else think he really looks huge (and I don’t mean his height)? Not looking to create an issue or talking point out of nothing, but it was just striking to me.
Hopefully he’s still healthy and in good enough shape, as this profession requires stamina and physical fitness to run practices, constant cross country plane rides, sitting hours at a time on wooden bleachers in gyms in the middle of nowhere, etc.
As a 56-year old 7 footer with 20+ year playing career, there is certainly more miles and wear on his body. Just hope coach is taking care of himself.

Just hope coach is taking care of himself. I think your concern is genuine. I'm a cardiologist in training in the NY area. I pay attention to everybody's weight, I usually keep to my opinions to myself because I think commenting on health is a privilege and I don't like putting other people's health out there because obviously it's the most important thing in life. Therefore, all I will say in this subject is losing pounds is always better for you unless your BMI drops below 20ish. I hate it when I see that orthopedic doctor on Twitter try to predict the severity of every star player's knee injury. I think it just fuels speculation which is unfair to the injured or unhealthy.

That's really cool that Ewing is planting the seed in these kids minds to adopt the mindset of becoming better on the floor. Keep up the good work Coach Ewing.

Certainly doesn't sound like a guy trying to live off his Hall of Fame playing career. He seems willing and able to adapt to the times and do whatever he needs to do in order to improve the program. Love the attitude and work ethic of Coach Ewing

I saw this too. Patrick is a loyal guy. I can't help but love that about him even though I don't like how the Knicks treated him and that I'd prefer he'd be out recruiting.

Pretty sure draft lottery is in May during a dead recruiting period. It's also only one night. A great way to remind the youth of today of Coach Ewing's greatness on the court....

I hadn't thought of the recruiting period part.

The visibility and credibility Coach Ewing will get - especially if the NYK end up with #1 pick - will help coach and GU with recruiting. Builds his and GU's profile, image. This is a no-brainer.. Had to do it.

"I'd prefer he'd be out recruiting." Please, give us a break! The attention that will come to Ewing because of this one night event can only bode well for the program.

From many of the recruit viewing shows that Coach Ew is grinding just as hard if not harder than other coaches. There will always (regardless of the situation) be those here that will look to get their personal shade thrown.

I think it's cool Ewing is doing it, but also think it has virtually zero impact on recruiting, though any exposure is good exposure. But ultimately, I doubt it helps much.

I think it's cool Ewing is doing it, but also think it has virtually zero impact on recruiting, though any exposure is good exposure. But ultimately, I doubt it helps much. It's not as though a recruit is going to see Pat on TV as the Knick rep and say, "Hey! That's the school for me!" It is more like advertising... impressions, multiple impressions as well as environment and context. Image advertising. Cars, beer, razors... It's all about creating an image. Seeing Coach at the NBA lottery reinforces his image....NBA all time superstar. How about Pat's instagram account, photos of Coach with Max Scherzer working out at GU, or coach and Otto, and Deke and Zo. Put it another way... let's say you never see Coach anywhere... not at the Final Four, not with recruits visiting GU, not with NBA All Stars.... no where And you never hear or see him being interviewed. Anywhere. Wouldn't that lack of visibility make him seems less relevant? What is your favorite beer? Soft drink? What if you NEVER saw it on TV ever again? Any one individual ad won't have much of an impact. But for coach, being visible, present, in "context" (cool hoops places to be).... all of that adds up over time. Far better to have it than not.
