If we kept JT3, the Princeton would be here...not sure about Waters. That scenario would have been horrific. THE PRINCETON OFFENSE HASN'T BEEN HERE SINCE 2011 AT THE VERY LATEST. Get that through your heads people. Had III NOT abandoned the Princeton offense he would still be the coach.

Fair enough, whatever hybrid offense we were playing would be here. Kids don't want to play it. Tremont may have wanted out anyway.

Forget Tremont, if we're going to talk about woulda coulda Hoyas then we need to talk about Jaren Jr. Old School. Great athlete. Lottery Pick. Worthy heir to Rejection Row. Plus his dad isn't crazy.

We should just refer to it as the JT3 offense. The Princeton doesn't deserve that kind of slander. I agree that JJJ is the better player and I love his game but Tremont was a bigger key for this program. For 1 he's not likely a 1 and done and two he plays a position that is less of a need. If Tremont was on this team it would be a likely tournament team. That being said getting rid of JT3 was more important to the long term future of the program.

This is the Tremont Waters thread, if you want to talk about some guy who did not sign with our school and whose Dad might even hate our school after running a public campaign to be hired and was rejected, go bump the Jaren Jackson Jr. thread. Tremont Waters signed a LOI, he wasn't a hypothetical like Grant Hill or Kenny Anderson or any number of these guys where if the coaching staff "had just done one thing" maybe he would have signed. He was a done deal.

I may be forgetting--not at all unlikely--but I do not think Tremont Waters signed a LOI. I think he simply gave a verbal commitment which he withdrew.

If we kept JT3, the Princeton would be here...not sure about Waters. That scenario would have been horrific. Of course this is right, but TC will spin his tale of intrigue and casualhoya subterfuge because that’s what he does. The soap opera nature of Waters’ recruitment post-decommit should clue you in on the fact that he was waffling before things hit rock bottom and he wasn’t sold on the Hoyas. That was an ongoing theme even before casualhoya decided to take it upon himself to destroy the program singlehandedly (if you subscribe to TC’s nutty worldview). You know your position is tenuous when the only fan signing onto your conspiracy theory is glide.

Noone here knows why he chose to go elsewhere. Some quote his official statement...which leads one to believe he would have stayed had JT3 been on strong ground. However, it is also a public, well crafted statement and perhaps in reality, Tremont was disgusted how the team played, about the transfers and would have left anyway. No he didn't say it...I doubt he would want to publicly disrespectd Jt3, if that was how he felt. Or..Perhaps his public statement is 100% how he felt. Bottom Line..Noone on HT that I am aware of is close with Tremont..so noone really knows. Most important..why the hell does it matter anymore?

Also, others would have left under the status quo scenario. No climbing out of that hole!

I'm still surprised he chose LSU but I'm happy to see him doing so well. Hopefully, he's as happy with his choice off of the floor too.
