I might think it better to let Patrick make his pitch, without a bombardment from a legion of desperate Hoya fans (many of whom were in the "Fire JTIII" movement, which may or may not have sat well with Tremont).

I could stomach losing him to UConn, or Creighton, or maybe even Syracuse. But Western Kentucky? Huh?

I could stomach losing him to UConn, or Creighton, or maybe even Syracuse. But Western Kentucky? Huh? If we can't have him, part of me wants him to go to WKU. If he goes to any of the other schools, I have to likely watch him play us at least once a year. And, if he's considering WKU and picks us over him, well I hope he has fun with that. Just think of it-- he has the choice between coming to Washington, DC, and playing under an NBA legend in an NBA arena or playing in Bowling Green, KY, for a coach who got fired by Mississippi State. He could be playing in March under the lights of Madison Square Garden. Or, in WKU's case, he could play March basketball at the BJCC in beautiful Birmingham, Alabama (at least that has been the venue these past few years). Now, I would never say anything bad about Birmingham--great place. But I've seen basketball games at both the BJCC and Madison Square Garden, and, take it from me, MSG is better. Frankly, I think the choice is clear out of all those programs. We are the only program here truly on the upswing, except for possibly Creighton. We certainly have more to offer right now than Syracuse or Connecticut. But if we can't have him, I almost hope he heads down to WKU.

I couldn't stomach him going to any of those schools, quite frankly...Georgetown is clearly the best choice for him given his and his dad's priorities...when Patrick turns the program back around, and he will and relatively quickly, Tremont will forever be credited with being the guy who came in and started the engine...

Contacting prospects is counter to NCAA rules. Repeating: "Only Georgetown University's coaches who have successfully completed the NCAA Recruiting Rules Examination on an annual basis may be involved in the recruitment process. Representatives of athletics interests (alumni and boosters) MAY NOT make any recruiting contacts. This includes letters, e-mails, text messages, telephone calls or face-to-face contact on or off campus with a prospect or the prospect's parents. www.guhoyas.com/ot/compliance_Boosters.html

And should we report all of those Syrapuke tweeters?!

Meh...Nobody follows that rule on Social Media.... That may be, but encouraging others to do it on a site such as this one is too close to the edge of NCAA recruiting rules.
