This is the last game of our 5 game weekend min-plan. So far we are 3-1 (beat Elon, UCONN, and Marquette; lost to Butler). Like all of you I'm sick of how this season turned out but as far as attending (and watching games on TV) there is no way I will turn my back on the Hoyas. Yes, after the St. John's debacle I considered not renewing my tickets for next year but when all is said and done, to paraphrase Brokeback Mountain, "I just don't know how to quit them". My son and I have had these tickets for at least 10 years. We were there when we beat Duke and returned to prominence. We were there when Hibbert hit that buzzer beating 3 pointer to defeat UCONN and clinch a BE championship. We were there when Bowen made that ridiculous offensive rebound put back to help beat Louisville, and we were there when we slaughtered Syracuse 61-39 to clinch another BE championship. Sure this season has sucked but we were there when we played probably our best game in beating Marquette. Do I think it is time to replace JT3? Yes. But how we do it will say a lot about our school. It has to be done in a way that respects all that the Thompsons have done for Georgetown and for all the student athletes they coached and mentored. And it has to be done in a way that demonstrates some appreciation by all the fans/alumni like me for the great memories they have given us. Let's finish this season in peace. No matter what happens Saturday let's show some appreciation to our seniors and all our players. Outstanding post. Thanks Easy Ed. Living 95 miles from DC, going to the games is a great outing for my son and I. We meet up with local DC friends and fellow alumni, go out afterwards for food and drinks and generally have a great time whether or not the Hoyas win or lose. You know, the longer this whole JT3 hate thing goes on the more upset I'm getting at my fellow Hoyas. During and immediately after these loses i'm ready to see JT3 ridden out on a rail. But a day or so later its easier to put things in perspective and realize we stunk for a long time, then we were great, then we stunk again, then we were pretty good for quite a while and now we stink. Was my life appreciably better when we were great or significantly worse when we weren't? Not really. I'm beginning to wonder if there isn't an age factor in this whole brouhaha. I could dee how alumni and fans that either came of age or attended GU during the JT2 era have an inflated view of the basketball program. And maybe the same holds true for those who were early JT3 admirers. But having spent my 1964-1968 matriculation watching some pretty lame GU basketball teams and thinking the highlight of the season would be beating GW or Maryland, and having crossed the 70 year old threshold last month, I think I see things in a clearer perspective. Yes, it's probably time to get rid of JT3. But how we do it will say a lot more about us, The GU community, than it will about JT3 and our basketball program. It would be nice several years from now to be able to look back on this period and think that we handled the transition to a new coach in a way that honors what the Thompsons have done for our school and ensures that basketball - and winning at basketball - doesn't become how we define the GU experience.

Can't swing that, Frazier - I'm the Team Administrator on the bench with the trainer and the girls..... Got it. You will really need it AFTER the game!😁 My kids played club soccer for years. I hated the cold games. I often volunteered to be a linesman just so I could run and try to stay warm.

I think as longtime Hoya fans, we owe it to the players on Senior Day, to watch the game and cheer for them. Let's put coaching issues aside for now, and support the players that we've all grown to care about. Tomorrow is a big day for them, especially the Seniors. Hope to end the home season on a positive note and for the best outcome for the players and fans in the future.

I will watch as I always do. I will hope for a victory but expect a loss--the new norm for me. At several points in the game I will check other games to watch teams that play a more appealing brand of basketball. I will go crazy when I see lineups with only one shooter on the floor or one scorer on the floor, remembering the preseason quotes about the deepest team in years and reminding myself how quickly that bubble burst. I will applaud the efforts of players playing hard and challenging Nova for stretches of the game, and then stare into space in befuddlement when LJ lowers his head and recklessly throws his body at the basket in an effort to draw a foul; Mosley, Kaleb and Mulmore pass up open shots because they cannot shoot from deep; Pryor forces a shot when covered well; Govan, Agau and Hayes stop the momentum of the offense by holding the ball far too long or putting it on the floor and losing it; MD commits careless fouls and takes himself out of the game; Trey sits and sits and sits, next to Tre and Reggie; JT III looks on hopelessly as the game gets away through another scoring drought; and, the crowd goes quiet, then loud with hope and then quiet again as the team crumbles under the weight of pressure during a last ditch effort to win a game against a quality opponent. It's the new norm. Yes, I hope we win but more importantly and regardless of the outcome, I hope that JT III takes the classy approach and uses the aftermath to step down or into another role with the school so that I can have the best of both worlds--a continued connection to the Thompson family and hope that the basketball program can regain relevance in the near future with a style of play that I enjoy. Aside from all that, did you enjoy the season? Touche. Ed.

I had a nightmare last night that Jay Wright went evil genius and lost on purpose today. After the game he praised JT3 as one of the top coaches in America and said the Hoyas would be back on top soon. This led the administration to give JT3 a 6 year 39 million dollar extension. Wright went on Twitter the day after the extension and said HAHA sinkers I get to raid DC of the top talent and reign supreme in the Big East for 6 more years.
Then I woke up Editeded off.

At the game a bit early. DeGioia is here sitting by JT Jr in Big John's usual corner near the Georgetown bench. A lot of Villanova fans are here.

Jesus, man, couldn't you have waited to post this until after the game? Wright couldn't have thought of this by himself. Now we're screwed.

In the other games we have been at, DeGioia usually stops by and says hello then moves on to court side seats. He and JT Jr have been talking the whole time today, laughter and jovial it seems to me. It's gonna be a decent crowd today. 400s are already starting to file in. Lots of empty seats around the Georgetown season ticket holders though.

Maybe they just agreed to a big fat buyout and some cushy title without responsibility for III. That would make Big John smile (and me as well as we keep the best of the Thompson connection without having him Coach).

They just honored the seniors. It was a nice and respectful moment. No boos or jeers. The Georgetown fans were standing and cheering for the most part. A bit of confusion on the players in terms of what the order was and where they were supposed to stand. A nice good moment before the game.
