Caught the second half. J.T. was solid after apparently an even more active first half. The winner was a bit fortunate with the play off the Terps defender, but I want to see what would have happened to Dodson(?)'s ball had a Terp not had it go off their arm in their box.

JT had two spectacular saves in the second half. One diving left and the other fighting off a point blank Howitzer and pushing it off the bar.
This team is very deep, very smart and built to win big. If they get Achara healthy, there is no limit.
They also have one huge ingredient necessary: a goalie who can steal a game here and there.

Whenever the Hoyas beat the Twerps, it is good, especially good since UMCP was ranked #3.

I believe the players will wear rainbow wristbands in support of LGBT. Does anyone know the backstory on this? Why is our soccer team being used as a platform? It's a Maryland promotion: Aaaaaanyway, Maryland had more of the run of play, but the Hoyas definitely asserted themselves in stretches and had some dangerous opportunities, including the aforementioned non-call handball (it was hard to see from my vantage point on the visitor side, but pretty much all the Georgetown players immediately put up their hands, so...). Not having Achara in there leaves a huge hole from the perspective of stretching the defense and applying the finishing touch, but the boys are learning how to make due and generate opportunities from multiple angles and sources. Great diversity of attack. Maryland was without two of their starting backline, and the Hoyas were able to pressure them into a number of shaky moments. The Terp midfielders did make it tough to get that far, though. A really good, stiff test for the Blue & Gray. Can't really go with anyone for man of the match other than JT, though. It's not like he was under a constant barrage like last year, but he came up huge when it counted, and he actively initiated many attacks with his distribution - very few long punts to midfield up for grabs. We are watching one of the all-time greats, no doubt about it. Love sending the Twerp fans home grumbling, even if Sasho is apparently blinded by the silver lining: Yeah ok, whatever you say, champ. Remind me to stay the hell away from your doctor!

Remind me to stay the hell away from your doctor! The ball in the box was clearly off the Maryland Centerback's arm which was partially extended from the body. It was a bang-bang play and only the Blue/grayish of glasses would have seen it as an intentional playing of the ball. If it had been called, Maryland would have had a legitimate gripe just as the Hoyas have a legitmate gripe on the non-call. But we won, so go burn a couch Terps.

Very impressive and clutch win. Agree with the no-call on the alleged hand ball in the box.
Actually thought the commentary on the Big Ten Network feed was very balanced and even-handed. . .not what I'd expected.

I don't normally follow college soccer very closely, other then checking to see how the Mens and Womens Hoyas do, but I was able to see some of the game last night on the Big Ten Network and I have to say, it was very entertaining soccer. Both teams are very talented, with highly skilled players all over the field, and will likely have long runs in the NCAA tourney this season. It was a huge road win for the Hoyas. Impressive how many freshman play significant minutes for Georgetown.

3-0 with Lema adding a rocket from the top of the box.'
Very businesslike dispatch of an inferior opponent off two big road wins.
Sign of a good team.

Solid performance, could've easily had another couple if not for some desperation defending from The Hall, including a clearance off the line. Good to see the offense continue to generate - and finish! - chances as they await Achara's return. Lema doing it himself twice, this time - Man of the Match for sure.
No available footage of Goal 1, but it was a beautiful free kick by Lema into the corner.
Goal 2:
Goal 3:

Provy really does always seem to play us tough and match up well against us. They ground out a scoreless draw today, albeit one that featured a missed handball in the box call on them that was so blatant, it was caught by the 'Big East Digital Network' / Georgetown work-study on a tripod camera. Really wanted the three points at home, as we are now no longer in control of our own destiny, pending Butler's showdown with ninth-place Seton Hall tonight.
Saturday's game at St. John's looms large, as that has traditionally been a tough place for visitors, what with their "Like Kehoe, but on Top of a Parking Garage instead of a Gym" field. The Johnnies have worked themselves up to #3 in the conference to boot.

1-0 loss to a very mediocre St. John's team yesterday. A bad feeling about the way we are playing at the end of the season.

1-0 loss to a very mediocre St. John's team yesterday. A bad feeling about the way we are playing at the end of the season. Yeah frustrating game. Hoyas dominated, but couldn't break through and St. John's finished their one chance. Annoying because won't win the regular season title now. The real issue is injuries. We were down 3 of our best players Schrop, Achara, and Nealis. Nealis I think was out due to accumulation of yellow cards. At full strength we're tough to beat. Hopefuly everyone gets healthy and eligible for the BET and the NCAAs.
