Pretty darned exciting news here. Creation of a spring college soccer program by US Soccer. The initial "event" will have six teams: Clemson, Duke, UNC, UVA, Wake......and the Hoyas. www.ussoccer.com/stories/2018/02/07/21/38/20180207-news-us-soccer-launches-2018-spring-mens-college-programInternational rather than NCAA rules used. One game against each opponent. US Soccer scouts in attendance. What a great recruiting tool. I'm sure geography played a huge role in who they picked for this inaugural group, and they probably will pick different schools different years, but it's great soccer company to be in. And there is another Mid-Atlantic school with significant soccer history that either declined or was passed over! Heard the coach on SiriusXM soccer channel this morning talking about the great benefits of this program, not only for the players, but also the coaches in terms of advanced metrics, use of film, and just a surprising camaraderie for all involved.
