Jack Reilly was one of the Georgetown track greats. Jack died Dec. 31 of complications of Parkinson's Disease, which he struggled with for 15 years. I first saw Jack running the anchor leg in the 1962 Millrose Games two-mile relay (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bc1yPzjkBGk). Jack took the baton about 50 yards behind Manhattan. Holy Cross passed Manhattan close to the finish and Jack passed Manhattan and almost passed HC at the end. A 1:47.9 leg for the full 880 yards on the MSG 11-lap for the mile board track. Jack was my RA one of my three years in New South. He would visit my uncle's grave in the Jesuit cemetery at GU, while he was in D.C. My uncle being the moderator of the track team for about 15 years. May my good friend rest in peace. A lifelong Hoya, Jack was inducted into the Georgetown University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1975. In 1993 he was awarded the J. Gregory Carroll Memorial Service Award, for service to the Georgetown athletic community. He was the first Hoya in Georgetown history to earn the trifecta of the Duffey, Carroll and Hall of Fame honors. www.legacy.com/obituaries/theday/obituary.aspx?n=john-joseph-reilly-jack&pid=183277640&
