Why can't one guard redshirt?
You definitely take Collins if you can get him and I'll go as far as to say you can pencil him in as the starter... Not the quickest player, but knows how to get to his spots, and can't be sped up.
Very mature game.

You can consider that all you want, three players at the same position in the same class is a recipe for kids transferring. It makes no sense. And no one is saying don't go out and get a third guard, getting a third guard makes a lot of sense, just make it a grad transfer. Unless Harris takes a red shirt year, then you only have two in one class! As much as I would like a grad transfer guard for next year, I would prefer a player like Collins. It's also not a guarantee that Georgetown would land a grad transfer guard.

Definitely a talented player but I don't get why he'd think about moving up a class, I'm not a fan of kids making that jump...

This is like the recruitment of the center position last year. Land a kid, go get someone better and repeat.

basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/2021-intro-frankie-collins-looking-to-make-noise-out-westHe'll be on the Adidas Gauntlet Circuit with Dream Vision Next and when it comes to recruiting, there's no rush. Just an early idea of what will be important. "My parents have told me to go where I can do something besides basketball so it's not just about basketball," said Collins. "I want to have another backup plan so that's the main thing. I'm taking in what coaches tell me, I ask a lot of questions and I'm watching a lot of college basketball to see the things they do and ask them about it."

I couldn't find any information on that, this article from September 2018 has him as a sophomore and talks about how he played 16u aau over the summer... www.prephoops.com/2018/09/prospect-update-frankie-collins-2021/

Thanks for posting video. Collins would be one of the, if not the highest rated recruit of the Ewing era. We are losing two guards that average over 35 minutes and one of our guard recruits is a unranked two star. Those complaining must be same who did not want RJ Davis or Cole Anthony bc they might disrupt our back court. In your opinion, why would any of these players want to play for Coach Ewing? Isn’t he the worst coach in Hoyas history whose name begins with an “e”? Wasn’t that your clever post?

Per the article that LCPolo18 posted: Frankie Collins is ranked amongst the Top-70 juniors in the entire country. With that he found himself leading national recruitment which includes him using an official visit on the University Of Minnesota. He’s had an outstanding season with Arizona Compass Press and due to that it has helped him land several new offers and he now has several decisions to make. This season he has had to be one of the leaders on this powerhouse squad. In addition, Collins has seen improvement in his game. How does he describe his game? “I am a top point-guard who loves to get better and make my teammates better, I will do anything to win and I like to play downhill and I like to shoot the ball of the dribble, and I’m bouncy and have a high IQ,” he said. Collins said he needs to improve on being a consistent jump shooter. Collins gave Stockrisers.com the full run-down on his recruitment. Starting with what his future plans are. “I will decide a little bit after the AAU season if I will be reclassifying or not.” Collins has been given the option by several schools to move up into the 2020 class, among them: Georgetown, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. “Auburn, Kansas, Oklahoma, Georgetown, TCU, Virginia Tech, Washington State, are among the schools involved.” In addition, Collins said that Miami, USC, and Gonzaga are among the new programs that have inquired in him. As far as visits go, Collins just scheduled an official visit to Georgetown for March 6th-8th and the Hoyas face Villanova in a major showdown. Patrick Ewing is vying for Collins’ talent and aims to snag him for either 2020 or 2021.

I sure would like to see some serious 6-5" to 6-9" prospects vying to become Hoyas!

It seems to me if he's going to move into the 2020 class he would decide well before the AAU season ends in mid-July....
