Why should this be a loser leaves town game? Both coaches have won national championships, and Miles, eccentric though he may be, has won more than one. I know that the SEC thinks that every team (except maybe Vandy and Kentucky) should contend for a national championship every season, and I know that Auburn has mildly disappointed the last couple years, but this still seems preposterous to me. Any word on Len Swann being on the tarmac at LAX tonight? Who's Len Swann?

Because 114-34 (.770) isn't good enough in the SEC unless you win now. Miles will get a big check on the way out and is a guaranteed hire for lots of programs. And the Notre Dame seat is getting warmer after a loss to (gulp...) Duke.

He also bet heavily on no changes to his offense after almost being fired last year. Most coaches would have at least tried to bring in a new system/new coordinator.

Any word on Lynn Swann being on the tarmac at LAX tonight? Ha ha. I don't know which SoCal team had a more agonizing loss this weekend, but I would opt for my Bruins, who played great defense for 58 minutes and then managed to lose to Stanford yet again.

I'll be pulling for LSU to do great for the rest of this year, so that they have no choice but to give Ed Orgeron the coaching job. While I may have no love for USC, I thought that Coach O got the shaft, and should definitely have gotten the head coaching job at USC rather than Sarkisian.

It would be a perfect fit. I hope that he opens up the offense and pulls out all the stops for the rest of the season. Week 5 Picks for Games that Matter: U-Dub upsets Stanford (Friday) Miami-Ohio over Ohio U in the Battle of the Bricks Air Force over Navy in a Commander in Chief's Trophy game Tennessee over Georgia Michigan over Wisconsin Florida Atlantic over Florida International in the Shula Bowl for the Don Shula Award Central Michigan over Western Michigan in a Michigan MAC Trophy game for the Victory Cannon Clemson over Louisville Michigan State over Indiana for the Old Brass Spittoon Colorado State over Wyoming for the Bronze Boot Brown over Rhode island for the Governor's Cup Tennessee State over Tennessee-Martin in a Sergeant York Trophy game Prairie View over Grambling State in the State Fair Classic Sam Houston State over Stephen F. Austin in the Battle of the Piney Woods

Hoping Ed gets the job as well. Also hoping Stanford and Louisville win.
