Forrestville (Md.) Bishop McNamara has an intriguing trio of sophomores to keep an eye on in Makhi Mitchell, Makhel Mitchell and Johnathan McGriff. Ranked No. 31 overall in the class of 2019, Makhi Mitchell has great hands, is a pretty good shot blocker and a high level of overall skill. As he matures physically and works his way into shape, he could develop into a very dangerous big man. His twin brother Makhel isn't quite as developed offensively but he's not too far behind his brother and looks like another potential high major. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/national-hoops-fest-four-star-junior-brandon-slater-fulfilling-potentialI saw these guys at an earlier game ... I think Maryland. They are big. It looks like they are focused on getting bigger ... and then perhaps getting lean. It'll be interesting to see if they want to attend the same school. Quite a few identical twins end up playing for the same college team ... the Morrises at Arizona ... those kids who transferred out of NC State ... could be a package deal .. which doesn't sound like a bad thing.

One of the brothers was at last night's debacle, FWIW.

I'm guessing, based upon what I've read, that foot speed and agility may be an issue with them? Is that what we want going forward?

Hard to say. Marcus plays the 4 without foot speed or great agility; on his good nights he is a force.

Hard to say. Marcus plays the 4 without foot speed or great agility; on his good nights he is a force. People keep perpetuating this myth that is no longer true. Late in the second half yesterday he guarded Cartwright 30 mins from the basket and for the whole possession off the ball. He's not the quickest guy you'll find but he's rarely at an athletic disadvantage.

Marcus is certainly quicker than he was coming out of HS, but I don't think anyone would characterize him as a "quick" big man. If the play would have called for Cartwright to blow by Doc, it would have happened.

If the play would have called for Cartwright to blow by Doc, it would have happened. It happened to everyone on our team. If that's the logic being applied then all of our players are playing without footspeed.
