I highly doubt he asks for his release. Most teams have filled up or have a specific target in mind. It wasn't like he had offers from everybody. It's best for both sides if he remains.

Walker is much more of a fit for an NBA style offense that Ewing is proposing. Walkers athleticism and energy (his best basketball traits at this point in his still early stages of development) has a better a chance to be impactful then he would have been in JT3's offensive and defensive styles. I hope Walker stays and I hope Ewing wants Walker to stay. If Walker stays, he will easily be the most athletic player on the current roster.

We don't know what Ewing's style is truthfully. Every team claims they run NBA type offense and it's mostly true. The college game mirrors the NBA in a lot of ways.
Maybe they play a little faster. I think the biggest change is likely to come on defense.

I think the biggest change is likely to come on defense. Ewing has only ever coached in the NBA. I think we can take his word that we'll be running an NBA style offense. More pick and rolls. More high/low post game. More 3 pt shots. On defense, I think it'll look more like Pop's Georgetown's teams: high pressure all over the court.

From what I gathered when Walker originally committed it seemed like Georgetown had always been his dream school. I can't imagine the chance to play for the greatest player in his dream school's history would change his mind about becoming a Hoya. I hope he stays part of the Hoya family

The key with high pressure is having the players who can do that, effectively, without fouling. If I recall, I am pretty sure Ewing mentioned that or referenced it at the press conference. I am not sure next year's group will be capable of that type of defense, but we shall see. I do hope Walker stays in the fold. If it's true that Georgetown was his dream school, it's hard to see him not staying unless he had a strong relationship with JT3 or one of the departing assistants.

He also fits the bill as a DC recruit. Maybe it helps with his high school teammate Boyd. THink of III's classes: 16 class had no DMV, 15 had Johnson & Derrickson, 14 had Campbell, 13 had none, 12 had none, 11 had hopkins & Whittington, 10 had Starks & Ayegba, 9 had Bennimon, 8 had Sims & Clark, 7 had Freeman Wright & Mescheriakov, 6 had Summers & Macklin and 5 had none.
So in 12 years we had 15 players from the DMV. Of those, only 9 were top 100 type guys. Gotta do better if we want to hold down the DMV.

With the spring recruiting season opening, I would certainly think we would have heard some indication by now, so I feel pretty confident that he will be a Hoya.

Glad to get him to stay. We could use one more young frontcourt player but a corps of *Derrickson*, Govan, Agau, Mourning, and Walker is *(more than) serviceable.

Did I miss something or are you assuming Derrickson is our Three?

Did I miss something or are you assuming Derrickson is our Three? Nope, busy day trying to get projects done before vacation, can't forget Doc! Makes the front court that much better.

Cant wait to see Antwan on the court. I think he will provide valuable depth and should compete for the back-up 4 spot. Barring injury he should have plenty of time to get his feet wet and get adjusted to the college game.
As long as he keeps his activity up and continues to fight on the boards, I think he'll be a great Hoya.
