Clearly, Chris Mack has to be on the hot seat after the Muskies lost to such an inferior team. It looked to me as if there was a chemistry issue in the X locker room.

No great teams this year. The NCAA tournament will be crazy.

Creighton up 18 with under 16 left in 2nd. I suppose it will all play itself out in the end, but Id much rather no one else beat Xavier other than us, especially a bubble team and someone close to us in the BE standings. Xavier is starting to come back a bit. Very well stated Jook.. That's why I'll be rooting for Marquette tomorrow night against Providence..

I actually think it's that Mack didn't get T'ed up and tossed from the game. That, or he didn't use his timeouts at appropriate spots.

How much does Mack get paid anyway?
Xavier should just join the Ivy or Patriot League after tonight.

How much does Mack get paid anyway? Xavier should just join the Ivy or Patriot League after tonight. One site says about $1.1 million. Given his success, I would say he's in line for a big increase either when his contract expires or if he goes somewhere else. For what it's worth, Mack is on record saying he's turned down a number of opportunities to make more money. "At the end of the day, Xavier's where my heart is. It's not about money. It's about the right fit. I like what we're building at Xavier, and it's what I'm completely committed to," Mack said [in 2014].

Tough to win when you are 1-21 from 3. Let's just hope they are as cold against us in 2 weeks.

That win puts Creighton firmly in the top 100, which is good in one way for us. But, yeah, if the BE turns into a mess of mediocrity at 10-8, it's not going to look all that great.

Brutal non-foul call on Providence to end the first OT. Going to a second extra frame. Dunn has fouled out, as has Fischer from Marquette.

Marquette blows late 5 point lead in OT after fouling Bentil on a 3 and missing a wide open layup. Ouch.
Going to 2nd OT.

Let them keep playing additional overtimes. Maybe Bentil is a little winded come Saturday at noon.

36 and 10 so far for Bentil. 27 NBA scouts said to be at the game. 26 and 15 for Ellenson.

I can't believe Providence is going to get swept by Marquette. I think the BE might be a lot worse than we thought.

The great Ed Cooley goes down for the second time this year to Marquette. Bentil ends up with 42 and 12. Not sure how Providence has managed to only be 6-6 with 2 of the 3 or 4 best players in the conference.

Yeah, he gets credit for the turnaround of Bentil, but look at their resume closely and they have been a disappointment.

Tonight on ESPNU at 9:00 pm: Radford at UNC-Asheville
Think the players and coaches should have a team meeting at McDonough tonight to watch the game. Perhaps it will ensure that they have laser-like focus for the remainder of the season and play with passion and anger down the stretch.

Cooley has 3 players on that team - Dunn, Bentil and Bullock. Shut one of the first 2 down and they are beatable.
