The kid knows what he can do. I think he is probably overthinking his shots a little too much. He just needs to relax and play the game. His defense, right now is what is keeping him in the game. Love his ability to run the floor, his long arms, his leaping and blocking ability, his rebounding.
One other thing, I wish he would concentrate more on the short 10-12 foot jumpers--yeah, like Otto. Get those going in 80-90% of the time is money.

Copeland's shooting has been off this year as evident in a statistical comparison. Last season he shot 45% from 2 pt., 81% on FTs and 39% from 3 pt. This year the numbers have fallen to 44%, 76% and 35%, respectively. His rebounding is up from 3.8/game to 5.1/game. However, what is more telling is that Copeland has fallen in love with the 3 pt shot this year and the results do not justify the new emphasis. Through all of last season he attempted 54 3 pt shots and made 21. This year he has already taken 63 3pt shots and made 22. As many of us have stated, he needs to get back inside the arc, which will also put him in a better position to rebound on the offensive boards.

I really hate seeing replays where an offensive player is rising up while pushing down on our defensive players' shoulder, particularly when our defender gets called for a foul!

His defense, right now is what is keeping him in the game. His defense was a bit better against DePaul, but his defense has been atrocious to a large degree. He's been pretty good rebounding, but not defense in any other way. I think he has the capability to be a very good defender, but he hasn't showed it yet.

His potential is what seems to be getting him the minutes he gets. If he played with the energy and intensity that Bentl plays with at Providence he would be able to dominate a lot of games and would be a lock for a high lottery pick next year. He seems to want to let the game come to him and disappears for long stretches far too often.

I agree with Lic. I just watched my recording of the St John's game and Ike played a very good, though quiet, game. Check out some of his passes into the paint and his defensive hustle.

My $.02- PLEASE attack the rim! While I think he needs to try more than just spot up shooting, have you seen his attempts to "attack the rim" this year? If he doesn't lose the ball on the way there, any shot attempt is essentially just throwing it towards the rim and simply hoping for the best. It should be his number one priority in the off-season though, but the best chance this season to start making harder cuts in the hopes of a backdoor pass.

I want to see more rebound jams and mid-range jumpers off the ball fake and single dribble which are his best shots. If he doesn't have a wide open three with his feet set and shoulders square, chances are it isn't going in. He just looks like he's forcing shot attempts on offense. Stick to the stuff that has worked and then open up the repertoire.

His release on his shot looks different than before. Like he's pushing the ball trying to aim it instead of snapping his wrist and just a smooth stroke. I think it's all mental right now for him

Copeland is absolutely killing us for multiple reasons. Not only is he contributing virtually nothing but badly missed shots; we need someone else to rely on late in the game other than DSR, and we have no one. We all expected Ike to be that guy. You can see how hesitant the players are down the stretch if DSR can't get free.

I think Isaac more than anyone misses what Paul White brought to this team....

I think Isaac more than anyone misses what Paul White brought to this team.... Plus Paul would give us another important option when Ike is unproductive and needs to sit.

Very soft player. Mentally and physically. And playing for a soft coaching staff that runs a soft offensive system. Bad combo. Let's hope he turns it around soon. If not, he's exactly the type of guy that transfers out of a program after badly underachieving for a couple years.

Still think that his shot has become very flat--almost like a line drive. I noticed it at MSG when I watched him warm-up. Set shots had arc, but jump shots were relatively straight. Needs a shooting coach to work with him everyday.
