I thought the game was at 12:30 Left Coast time. I was watching the Carolina/Redskin game and decided to switch over during a break to see how the VCU/Wisconsin game was going. Imagine my surprise to see a score of Georgetown 37, Duke 31. Why on earth was the championship game first? From the time I tuned in, I didn't hear a single word about our two missing rotation players. Was anything ever said? I can guarantee that if Duke were missing two rotation players, Dookie V would have mentioned it 1,000 times. What a valiant effort by Coach K's boys, without Joe Schmo and Joe Blow! Woaaaaaah! Damn Grayson Allen, anyway. We may have already faced the two best guards in the country and almost beat both of their teams while short-handed. I think I recall them mentioning Paul once in regard to depth but nothing with regard to his injury. They didn't mention Tre at all, I don't think. Though there was some "interesting" chatter about Stiffy McPlumlee's plans after graduation. Apparently, he is "forgoing" the NBA path that his brothers took (as per Dick Vitale). Mind you, it's not because he sucks (he does). It's because he's serving his country. The service to and sacrifice for one's country is both admirable and important and plenty worthy of praise. To even insinuate that he's also passing on a lucrative NBA career is ridiculous and, in a way, demeaning to the real point of that story. As much as I despise listening to Dickie V, he couldn't suit those he slurps so voraciously more perfectly.

In the "if pigs had wings..." category, would we have won all four of our games, if we had Tre and Paul healthy, and if so would we be #1 now? No......it would still be UK. But we would be a solid #2......some good news. Radford beat another named opponent today. I can't remember who but it was a good win.... Radford beat Penn State. Not a name opponent but at least from a good conference. Chambers from Penn State has to get canned after this year, Hoyas need to be in touch with the PSU recruits that are any good.

I laughed earlier at someone that suggested it was conceivable the Radford loss could turn out to not be so bad. Needless to say, I hope I'm wrong, and this is a good start. They've scheduled very wisely this year. They played Penn State and still have Va Tech left (so, two teams from major conferences that will have decent RPIs just based on who they play in conference but that should be pretty bad and beatable). On the other hand, their conference by and large stinks, and inevitably they're going to lose a couple or few games (in and out of conference) to bad teams just by virtue of playing so many. But if they can keep their RPI somewhere in the 100s, that would be terrific. I still think that will be difficult, but it's not wholly inconceivable.
