To all of those that have yet to give or can give a little more, here's the latest update from Ty's cousin Monica:
Hi everyone! I know you all are sending well wishes and prayers for a speedy recovery! They're working! A quick update, Tyrell is now in a manual wheelchair. This is awesome because he is no longer dependent on an electric wheelchair, but has enough mucle control and movement to operate a manual wheelchair on his own. This also helps him to continue to strengthen his muscles. In additon, he now has complete movement and control in 2 fingers on his left hand along with being able to control muslces in his back. All of his progress is so encouraging!
On another note, Tyrell's discharge date has changed and he will be at the rehab into December as of now.
We are super thankful for all of the support!
Ty clearly still has a long road ahead of him. I'm very much hoping, as I'm sure we all are, that Ty makes a full recovery. Monica has done a great job raising funds for her cousin but I'm sure most of us know how quickly medical bills can add up. Please continue to do whatever you can for the members of our Hoya family.
Dan and the other Mods, I know that this isn't a basketball thread but, considering the circumstances and the severity of the situation, would it be possible to keep this thread on the most visited part of the board? If not, I understand. But, while we all snipe at one another and act like middle schoolers a lot of the time, I feel like, collectively, we could do some good here if we all chipped in a bit.
