The reason recruiting rankings are directional at best. Jagan is going to be great for the Hoyas regardless of whether he lacks NBA potential.

highschoolsports.nj.com/news/article/-8285860481658030327/boys-basketball-jagan-mosely-of-st-anthony-is-the-njcom-player-of-the-year-for-2015-16/Every day when when Jagan Mosely woke up before taking the hour and a half trip from his Morganville home to St. Anthony High School in Jersey City, he saw one word taped to his bathroom mirror — "unknown." The Friars guard placed a piece of paper on the mirror after attending a Nike Top 100 camp workshop that suggested he put a word there that he felt described himself and would provide motivation. "I thought at the time that I was kind of underrated. No really knew what I could do on the court," Mosely said. "I felt as though I was the underdog my whole life. I'm kind of used to it now, but it just made work harder day by day, trying to prove people wrong." By the end of his high school career, Jagan Mosely was anything but unknown. He leaves St. Anthony as a state champion and the NJ.com Player of the Year for 2015-16.

"247Sports Director of Basketball Scouting Jerry Meyer described Mosley for Hoyas247. Meyer said, “Mosely is a physical guard with a great competitive spirit. He is difficult to defend when attacking the basket and draws a lot of fouls. As well as being a strong finisher, he is also a good free throw shooter. Not known for his shooting range, Mosely will likely improve in that area at Georgetown. Defensively he has the strength and heart to be a formidable perimeter defender and rebounder. I expect Mosely to find a role as a physical, junkyard dog type guard at Georgetown where his toughness and physicality will be valued.”...
"NJ.com ran a story on Mosely in June of 2015 entitled “ St Anthony’s Jagan Mosely staying grounded throughout the recruiting process”, one of St. Anthony’s assistants, Eric Harrield, noted that “He is not fazed by it because he truly feels that it will work itself out. He looks at it as a 40-year decision, not just a four year decision, and it’s not just about basketball”. In Jason Bernstein's story, Harrield also described Mosely's effort and how humble he is. “He’s humble, he’s hard-working, he has discipline and a maturity beyond his years,” Harrield said. “He works everyday to get better and improve himself - not like he’s the best player on the team, but the worst player on the team. He works that hard. If we had 10 of him in the program, we’d never lose. He does it not only on the court, but in the classroom as well.”
That has always been the case with the Hoya commit. He does not take anything for granted. Even though the guard will be attending Georgetown in the summer of 2016, he still works hard on the court because he still has goals ahead of him."Jagan’s dad told me about some of the improvement that he has seen from his son this season. There has been a lot of focus shooting the ball for Jagan's development and his dad mentioned that to Hoya247.
“His shooting for sure," said Mosely's father. "A lot more consistent than last year especially shooting the ball from the perimeter. Lately, he has been pulling up and taking the short and mid range jumper. Coach Hurley wants him to do that more because it takes way the body blows he take when going to the basket. Ball handling has been something else he is working hard at."
"The older Mosely also discussed how he see his son fitting into Georgetown system and what do he likes about the school. “ The school fits his game well. He is a “system” guy. Playing for Bob Hurley helps a lot because Hurley is a system guy. As a matter of fact, Coach Hurley currently is running a similar system to what Georgetown runs. Kevin Broadus came to one of his practices and recognized a couple of sets they were running.”
The reason the Mosely’s chose Georgetown was because the quality education and the balance that it gives Jagan with basketball. His father said “Jagan is a winner, wanted a school that has a winning tradition”."
