Just watched the game online. Let me just say we have someone special playing for us next year. By all measures he oozes leadership and calm. When Roselle brought the game within four points he took over in a two-minute span and extended the lead to around 13. His shot looks much smoother than what I remember. St. Anthony's is a difficult team to read because they play super small, so I couldn't get too much of a read on his guard skills. But it looks like he passes fairly well and has a good feel for where to be offensively. Defensively he's fantastic, I want to say he guarded just about every single position throughout the game and had no issue with it at all. The kid's wingspan is absurd and you can tell it has a huge impact on all aspects of his game, be it his handle or his defense. Really excited that his next game will be in a hoyas uniform (I think?). I was enjoying your post until I came to that "I think" part. Don't you realize we need some confidence building around here?

Mosley tweeted that he wanted a Big East championship next. Peak responded: "@j_Mosely now we talking. Let's do it."

Mosley tweeted that he wanted a Big East championship next. Peak responded: "@j_Mosely now we talking. Let's do it." There are few things I love more than when older guys look out for and pull for the younger guys be it the alumni coming back or the current players building relationships before the new guys even arrive. Class move by LJ. Love it. And congratulations to young Mr. Mosely on being a state champion! Bring that winning with you to the Hilltop!

Mosely's national ranking is the #32 shooting guard on ESPN's list, but he's not among the top 100 among all players. By contrast, Tre Campbell was 2014's #30 point guard. Let's not assume Mosely is going to fix things. On the other hand, looking at "fit" and "need" -- what the Hoyas need is a defensive stopper with leadership qualities who is a willing passer and isn't afraid to take the basketball hard to the rim. This recruit fills all of those needs. He doesn't have to come in and be a "top 5 in his class according to the agencies" player for us right from the start, but it does seem like the stuff the kid is bringing with him could change the on-court chemistry for the better. I think that might be way more valuable than having a "higher rated guy" who doesn't bring complementary (or missing) skills to the group already here.

Played hard and didn't quit the entire stretch run of the season when we had nothing to play for. I think he's gonna be the leader of this team next year

We've had a lot of higher rated guys in recent classes but they're skill set just didn't compliment the roster already constructed. I think the intangibles, but also elite athleticism Jagan brings is exactly what this team needs. I wish we could sign 3 of him

I think he's gonna be the leader of this team next year Exactly, he should be the appointed captain and leader of this team by III. Enough with this only seniors are appointed captains even if they are not leaders, like DSR. Bradley , though less talented, was a vocal leader of this team. You can make Cameron a co-captain out of respect for him staying four years and giving it his best effort. LJ's tweet and Jagan's response tells me two things; (1) they like each other's game and think they may compliment each other, and (2) the apprehension about LJ going elsewhere is unfounded.

For what it's worth, Govan also congratulated him.

Let's face all those guys know what this team needs is a true point guard. I would take Mosley and a solid, solid, real solid transfer.

LJ's tweet and Jagan's response tells me two things; (1) they like each other's game and think they may compliment each other, and (2) the apprehension about LJ going elsewhere is unfounded. To be fair, it's not always seniors. It's usually the two (or 3) most senior starters. It's likely that LJ will be a captain even by that metric. Regardless, I agree with you in hoping that LJ is named a captain for next year. Many people took issue with LJ this year for his defense but I don't agree for the most part. He had his problems at times but I don't think there was a guy that worked harder on that end this year. He improved markedly on both ends actually. I wish Isaac and Tre could say the same about their own games and I am hopeful that they will be able to say the same when November rolls around. I'm excited to see the results of LJ's work in the offseason when play starts next year. Respect to LJ and Jessie for keeping an eye on their soon-to-be teammate. He's family already. He just hasn't made it home yet.

LJ requested to stay on the bench when III wanted to put him back in the starting lineup. It certainly helped him get a better feel for the game.
