From Rivals: Bob Hurley's national powerhouse Jersey City (N.J.) St. Anthony was missing some power with several regulars out due to illness Saturday. But, they still had senior leader Jagan Mosely and that was more than enough. Ticketed for Georgetown and ranked No. 121 in the Rivals150, the 6-foot-2 shooting guard played like a boss. Normally known more for his driving and tough defense, he did that but it was his deep jump shooting that really impressed. Mosely made five of his 10 three-point attempts while scoring 29 points and carrying the offensive load in a 60-48 win over Phoenix (Ariz.) Shadow Mountain. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1838805

Hopefully he gets more PT next year with Johnson, a Peak/Tre back court could get ugly at times if they don't both step it up

I have more confidence in those kids as Juniors than a Freshman guard but love the way he's trending and hopefully he earns some quality minutes..

Like what he brings to the table but we still need more help! If you look at what our current state of affairs and compare that to what we lost we need at least one other SG/SF.

Mosely had 8 points in a win yesterday, he didn't shoot the ball well at all from any level from the floor.. He's a good FT shooter though..
I know I sound like a broken record but this kid passes the ball very well, doesn't matter whether it's in transition or in a half court set or in getting in the lane, He finds people.. He's especially good in transition, always looks to push the ball ahead..
Honestly, I think he's the best passing guard JT3 has landed..
I'm still not sure about his ball handling abilities because Hurley has him playing more of a sf type spot..

We really do need another good passer, and he has a college ready body already. But you're right, it's hard to determine his PG potential when he doesn't get to play that position.

Photos: Iona Prep vs St. Anthony boys basketball St. Anthony head coach Bobby Hurley drew up a game plan that would help his athletic team display the ball moment that has helped certain teams in the NBA become quite successful in recent years. Hurley couldn’t hold back his smile in the postgame after watching the Friars handily win the nightcap of the Skyline Classic by defeating Iona Prep, 66-31, on Tuesday night at the C.E.R.C. in Jersey City. “We would like to say that the Spurs and Golden State are what we would try to look like in this version of basketball,” Hurley smilingly said. “Moving the ball, 6 or 7 passes, making the defense play, getting out in transition, throwing it ahead and playing and we did a lot of that stuff today.” The Friars head coach places a lot of trust in his senior guard lineup to execute the plan which they certainly excelled at. Georgetown bound Jagen Mosely, who continued to excel this season, scored a game high 16 points and Juvaris Hayes was a force on both ends of the floor with 14 points. St. Anthony also showed floor balance and spacing to allow Idris Joyner to get 10 of his 12 points in the first half and RJ Cole added 9 points as the Friars went on a stunning 24-2 run that spanned the first and second quarters. Shyquan Gibbs and Daniel Mading were also instrumental in a strong defensive effort for St. Anthony’s, who are ranked No. 1 in New Jersey by MSG Varsity. Mosely has been the spark for a deep Friars team with his ball handling, point production and his defense this season. The senior is quite inspired to lead St. Anthony’s to silverware, especially gaining the Tournament of Champions trophy the program has won a record 12 times. It has been only three years that the Jersey City school has hoisted the trophy but that is a drought Mosely would like to end. “We have a lot of seniors this year so we know that if we don’t win it this year, we would be the first to team not win it in four years at St. Anthony’s,” Mosely said. “We got a lot of pressure on us but we just want to take it one game at a time and one practice at a time.” - See more at: www.msgvarsity.com/new-jersey/st-anthony-races-past-iona-prep-1.1761588#sthash.zsYukSNJ.YAnshCgp.dpuf
