While Jagan has become a standout player on the hardwood, basketball was not Mosely’s first sport. It was actually football. The reason he gave up his gridiron dreams was because his mom was scared about the type of head injuries that are associated with the sport.
Fortunately for the Hoyas signee, this whole basketball thing has worked out well for him as he will be joining a prestigious Division I program in roughly seven months. A period of time that he knows will go by really fast.
With that being the case, Mosely has been working on his shooting a lot this year to prepare him for college. In addition to his on-the-court skills, Jagan knows that he will have to continue to improve the non-tangible aspects of his game.
“I have also have been working on being a leader because I want to win a championship this year,” said Mosley.
I'm very very high on Mosely now but if he develops a consistent jumper watch out..

hoopniks.com/2015-early-signing-period-breakdown-big-east/Best Passer: Jagan Mosley, Georgetown Best Defender: Jagan Mosley, Georgetown
Jagan Mosley | 6′-3″ | PG | St. Anthony (NJ)
In somewhat of a whirlwind recruitment, point guard Jagan Mosley eschewed local high-major programs to go with a traditional powerhouse in Georgetown. That decision may be fitting, as Mosley already plays in one of the nation’s premier high school programs at St. Anthony. Having played for coach Bob Hurley at St. Anthony, Mosley has experienced a system that emphasizes savvy play and defensive integrity, which is not unlike what he’ll need to know at Georgetown. Mosley is a pass-first lead guard and also a committed perimeter defender.
Take it fwiw & I realize it's relative when it comes to superlatives but to me it's encouraging that scouts continue to recognize Mosely's passing & defending skills which are the traits most "true" pg's have.. Adam Finklestein & Harrington from Scout have also written about Jagan's passing & defending.. I personally don't really care about positions like that, just get players who can play/fit but maybe just maybe Jagan will be the type of pg many posters want..

Being a great passer and great defender are big positives. I am one who has beaten the drum about guards and PGs. The attribute that I desire most is the ability to handle the ball under extremem pressure while making excellent decisions. That seems to be the situation where our 'make do' guards have the greatest risk of failure. Otherwise, they seem to do fine.

I'm excited that Jagan is a Hoya. I can't wait to see him suit up in his new school colors! Keep putting in that work, Jagan!

First off let me say I think Jagan will be fine because he has a lot of skills, a great mental makeup and as soon as he reaches campus he's going to start getting groomed for the position.
Just my opinion but in terms of being elite Jagan really needs to focus on his handle and just being tighter with the ball overall. He's more of a straight line driver now so working on his change of direction moves should be a focus. Shooting of course also has to be a focus off the dribble and coming off screens.
He has great talent an could be a PG in the future who checks a lot of boxes on what you would like to see out of the position. We just haven't been able to see it a ton yet due to how he plays in HS plus nothing against having a couple capable guys at the position on a roster. I also don't mind playing 2 PG's...Especially with the size we will always have 3-5 Takes pressure of him also which I'm sure 3 will do a lot early..
Speaking generally I don't care if the kid is pass first or shoot first just have a great feel for the game basically. More than a PG I guess the better term is Floor General, Coach on the floor, or table setter. When you get into Combo guard zone sometimes that part is lacking. That being the understanding of where to go next, having a game plan, and the ability to stick with it. Jwall Chris (Most Junior/ all Senior Year) and Markel all had different types of games but their mental makeup was what I think you look for in the position.
Those kids Mental makeup and Offensive skill with Jagans everything else would be golden. He can get there if he works works works works.

I can't wait for this kid to get on campus. I think he brings the junkyard dog attitude of a Brilly with the offensive potential of a JClark.
