Sincere question--What is it about Peak, then, that got him selected to the U-19 team? What is it that we are missing? Age is a big factor. I guess Peak must be young for his age since he would have to be 18 to be on the under 19 team. You look at the final roster and Swangian Tatum Alozno Trier Isiah Briscoe Brunson Evans Ferguson are all in high school. Peak has the advantage and experience of having a year of NCAA D1 under his belt. Onuaku from Lousivlle and Welsh from UCLA are the other two u19s who have played college. And his defense is apparently really good www.casualhoya.com/2015/6/16/8788691/lj-peak-georgetown-hoyas-u19-team-usa-basketball-filmA lot of the top kids in his age group were still playing HS ball last year. He and Marcus were born a day apart.. 2-1-96 2-2-96 ....Hoya trivia Govan is really young for his class, kid will still be 18 this time next year

He's definitely better at man defense then zone. He has good fundamentals on that end and if they will indeed be featuring the pack the line defense, LJ will do well. In zones, he tends to drift and lose people sneaking into his area. He will definitely be our best perimeter defender next year, maybe overall as well.

Compared to the guys YaBoy brought up in his post, however, this really isn't true. LJ's 2fg% was 45.7%. By comparison, Wade: 51.2% Waiters: 51.3% Derozan: 56.2% Evans: 51.4% That's a pretty big gap between LJ and NBA first round comparables. Sincere question--What is it about Peak, then, that got him selected to the U-19 team? What is it that we are missing? Um, he's a good player with nice skills. What do you mean "what got him selected?" He was on the BE All-Rookie team. Is it really a surprise he made the U-19 national team?

Sure he got lost in the zone a few times, but as an individual defender he fights screens exceptionally well, recovers well if beaten, moves quickly laterally, keeps his body in front of the ball, Keeps his hands up and visible, and he doesn't draw a lot of foul calls.

Good, solid assessment of Peak in his freshman year. Couldn't agree with you more.

www.csnwashington.com/ncaa/georgetowns-peak-excited-his-latest-international-adventureThe slashing forward heads across the pond Sunday after learning this week that he was one of 12 players to survive final cuts. In the midst of prepping for his next overseas experience, Peak answered questions about the Team USA experience via Georgetown SID Mex Carey. I guess Standig has gotten the memo yet.. Doesn't matter to me whether he's a guard or a forward because there isn't much difference in the two roles in JT3's system.. Even if the staff had landed Dozier, LJ would still get plenty of chances to handle the ball, make plays for teammates, shoot 3's ect..

Exactly we run 4 out 1 in so it really does not matter...Plus the NBA guys determine these things not us ..
