Maybe I missed it but do we know if Tyler Adams was given a role with the team post-graduation? There was speculation here about him joining the staff in some respect and I'm just curious if it happened. It would be great to know he's still involved.

Great news! I know he had been looking for an opportunity for a while. I'm so happy that you linked this and that he's being given the opportunity he's been hoping for. Get 'em Tyler!

There has been a lot of talk this year about how we have missed Jabril's leadership. But not much (if any) talk about the possibility that the team also misses Tyler's leadership. He was clearly a leader over his four years, even without playing. I would guess that Tyler played a big role in the general chemistry of the team, and that he provided some valuable support during games as well. It is great to see his team having some success in his first coaching gig.

Would love to see Tyler on the staff in the (near) future. A true Hoya.

Missed this the first time. Not that the kids are owed anything, but did it surprise anyone else that Tyler was selling cars after graduating? I'm thinking back in the day Pops would have used some connections for a favorite player ... (yes, I know that selling cars is an honest living, some kids want to go back to where they're from where opportunities are much different than in metro areas, etc etc)

Didn't JT3 sell cars for a while after he graduated? Yes. Working in management for Ford isn't quite the same thing as "selling cars." In any case, Mississippi isn't exactly a booming economy. Having grown up in Alabama, though, I can tell you that car dealerships are oftentimes one of the more stable commercial anchors in communities. In Mobile, certainly, the major dealership owners were among the most prominent businessmen in town. So it's a pretty good way to go in the Deep South, all things considered. Heck, the newest member of Northern Virginia's Congressional delegation owes his seat mostly to being the top car dealer in Arlington. Way more people in NoVa know him from that than from when he was Lieutenant Governor way back when.

I'm thinking back in the day Pops would have used some connections for a favorite player ... (yes, I know that selling cars is an honest living, some kids want to go back to where they're from where opportunities are much different than in metro areas, etc etc) I don't know what connections were contacted or not contacted. And I guess, to a degree, that's the point of connections. I hope that if he asked for any assistance that it was provided him. However, considering that he could have gone elsewhere and played but chose to stay at Georgetown and be the best, unavailable to play, energy dude on any bench in the history of benches, I wouldn't be surprised if he was the type of person that wanted to do whatever he is going to do on his own. I do know that Tyler expressed his desire to get into coaching ASAP and he's done that. I'm so excited to know that he's getting that opportunity. Seeing his enthusiasm on the bench and observing the way he would charge out to fire up/congratulate his team on the floor during TO's and breaks showed how much love and passion he has for the game. Big shot? Tyler was the first one up. Dunk? Same. Gorgeous pass? Tyler was all over it. He couldn't have been more engaged if he was on the floor the entire time. There isn't a team at any level in the country that couldn't use some of what Tyler's got. This year's Hoya absolutely could have used some Tyler. I hope he's even more successful as a coach than he ever dreamed he would be as a player. I don't ever recall reading what his cardiac issue was but I can only assume his heart was too big to play. I guess, in a way, it's a good thing he did move on from the Hoyas. This year wasn't good for anyone's heart.
