Wasn't sure where to put this so mods feel free to move it. Who do you guys think will be the next 1st round pick from a BE school? I don't see one in this upcoming draft so could it be Cope next year? Dunn? Someone else?
In my opinion the teams have BE teams have done well this year but not putting guys in the league could hurt down the road.

I truly believe that Ike and LJ will go in the first round someday.
I doubt that Henton will go in the first round, but I think he will be a solid NBA player.
Fishcer will go in the first round one day.
I am not sure about any of the guys from 'Nova...

I think Dunn could be a first round pick this year. I think Ike will be one next year.
Draftexpress has Dunn going at the end of the first round currently.

If Ike continues to improve at a normal pace and get stronger, he is a lottery pick. LJ is very hard to figure. I do not see the sure fire superstar a lot of folks on this board see. I do not mean to imply he will not be a superstar..I would love that...but I just haven't yet seen enough greatness from him. His shot needs a lot of work. Ike....has Jeff Green physical talent in terms of hops, quicks, smoothness, and is highly skilled, already.

I think Ike has more raw talent than Green as an athlete, but has yet to get anywhere close to Green's game or intangibles. I see them as very different players.

Isaiah Whitehead. Not that he deserves it, but there are a few teams with multiple first round choices this year (76ers, Celtics, Lakers) and I can see one of them taking him as a project.

Kris Dunn. I predict he comes out this year and gets drafted in the first round. Not a whole lot of PG competition in the upcoming draft.

In order of likelihood:
Dunn - hard to see what he would stay around to prove after this year, so he's gone and will fit in well as a mid-late first rounder for a contender that needs a backup PG
Copeland - easier to see what he could stay and show scouts he can do, so I think it's more likely than not that he stays... but I wouldn't blame him if he left and if he did I'd take him over Dunn
Cheick Diallo - everybody else currently playing is such a long shot to make the first round
Henry Ellenson - see above (edit: actually put Ellenson above Diallo because Lavin might get fired and Diallo's far from a SJU lock even if Lavin's around)
After that you're into current guys that I would consider very unlikely. I like Billy Garrett who is not first round talent (but since we're mentioning Josh Smith and LJ Peak I'm just tossing his name out there).
The LJ Peak fascination is a little strange and I think probably stems from people not watching the NBA. He's strong, quick, and can finish at the rim, and is probably going to be a really good college player; but as a recent comparison that description is comparable to Semaj Christon who was taken 55th and is now in the D League. Peak is 37/76 from 2 and 5/29 from 3 with basically no assists in conference play so far, so he has a long way to go to match Christon's scoring production and lacks any of the PG skills.
Isaiah Whitehead is Ricky Ledo, the sequel, except Ledo was toxic off the court and a mystery on it, Whitehead's been back six games and already proved he's the full team cancer package.
Josh Smith should have the opportunity to prove he finally wants to get in shape in the D League on a free agent contract.

Reynolds from Xavier has a shot
Jordan from StJ
both Sophs that haven't improved as much as one would have thought but still very talented in my eyes...

I'd have to go with Dunn as well. Rysheed Jordan has the right measurables but has a way to go with his actual game to be in that conversation. Unfortunately, he goes to St. John's and that's not really stressed or required there. For his sake, I hope he works out with Pointer. Pointer has to be the most improved player for St. John's in recent memory. I assume that has more to do with his own work than working with the staff there.

Do you think he jumps? With his history of injuries I cant blame him but another year of seasoning could make him a top 10 pick easy.. Big difference in money.. What guard in college or HS will be better than him next season?

What guard in college or HS will be better than him next season? Nobody I can think of… and you might be right about lotto next year but then again maybe he gets injured again… I think he jumps and i also think in workouts his stock is going to rise. He might be late Lotto this year when it’s all said and done. He’s better than a lot of guys who are getting more buzz than him at this point and the NBA guys always think they can fix your shot… haha
