Because I'm honestly sick of all the Hayes nonsense... who do we want winning Nova-Providence tonight? My personal thought is that the 1 seed is out of our reach and any result that will help us get a 2/3 seed in the BET would be helpful.
Also, now that SHU also appears to be on the verge of imploding if they haven't already, I think the conference needs St. John's to step up and get that 6th NCAA bid for the conference. Preferably they can accomplish that without doing it at our expense. Tonight is a must-win for them if they want to stay on the right side of the bubble.

Agreed--I don't see us going undefeated down the stretch, and even if we do, a 5 loss BE Champ seems unlikely. Not to mention Providence has the tiebreaker on us. Agreed on St. John's, but I just can't see them going 6-2 (or 5-3) down the stretch with 2 games each against us and Xavier and a game at Villanova on Senior Day (not to mention a game at Marquette).

Yeah, it will be very tough for SJU to finish 5-3. They have to get tonight vs. DePaul, at Marquette and home vs. SHU. Then they have to find a way to go 2-3 in the other 5 games (2 vs. us, 2 vs. Xavier, and at Nova). Xavier's been a bad road team (except for when they play us), so I could see them getting that game, but the other 4 are going to be very difficult. I do think a 9-9 BE finish gets you in this year, though. They have also have a strong SOS, so it's possible that would be enough for them.

After a shaky start, Xavier wasn't so bad on the road last night. St. John's has a tough schedule left. I don't see any chance of their going 5-3 without beating us. Which would, of course, be a very bad thing. I would prefer to see St. John's go on a run in the BET, again as long as they aren't playing us.

I'm betting (in my head) that Maryland loses to Indiana. And the Nova/Providence game is starting to feel like it's over.
