Quickly gaining notoriety
The city of Baltimore is always pumping out talent and it looks like 2018's Immanuel Quickley is the next name that fans need to familiarize themselves with.
A 6-foot-4 point guard from Bel Air (Md.) John Carroll, Quickley turned heads with his summer play for Baltimore Elite. He has terrific size for the position, is a good athlete and has terrific instincts off the dribble.
Mick Cronin and Cincinatti was the first program to step up with an offer and Rhode Island recently offered as well. Quickley saw Duke in the summer and the Blue Devils, along with others like Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Washington, Villanova, Syracuse, Clemson and N.C. State have expressed interest in evaluating him.

Notoriety or being notorious is a bad thing. I think think is a good thing. Just saying.

Class of 2018 Prospect Rankings Top Ten #2 David McCormack Norfolk Academy 6'10/C Johnson’s teammate on Loaded, the 6’10 big man debuted on ESPN at #24 in the nation, and whether he chooses basketball or football he’ll be a high major talent. He moves well despite his 290 lbs. frame, and his good hands and feet allow him to score in the paint at will. #3 Brandon Slater Paul VI 6'6/WF Pure upside puts this 6’6 wing in the top of our rankings, and his skill set has already improved immensely. Slater’s a lanky and bouncy forward that excels in transition, where he can put it on the floor and crash the glass. He’s also becoming a threat from deep off the catch. #4 Kenneth Nwuba Oak Hill Academy 6'10/C He’s raw, but his impact in the paint is tremendous at such a young age. He has terrific timing on both ends, altering and swatting shots defensively and catching any pass that’s thrown near the rim for a lob. Nwuba has tremendous upside and great size for his age. #5 Montez Mathis Oak Hill Academy 6'5/WG A lanky scoring guard that can get it done at all three levels, Mathis will transfer in after leading Mt. Carmel in scoring last season as a freshman. He’s an athlete that plays the passing lanes well and finishes in transition, and his deep range allows him to keep defenses honest in the half court. #6 Rasir Bolton Millwood 6'1/PG A true dual threat point that can score it and facilitate, Bolton is a master at running an offense no matter how complex. He reads the screen and roll well, delivers the ball through the thinnest windows, and knows his spots and takes good shots. - See more at: www.vantagehoops.com/news_article/show/552366?referrer_id=1102873#sthash.GVluubFV.dpuf

Noah Locke, CG, McDonough School, 2018: His brother is on pace to be an all-conference member within the Southern this year at UNC-Greensboro but, if all goes right, Noah Locke has the goods to be just as good, if not better. On Saturday, the 6-foot-2 playmaker did just that. A scorer at heart, Locke impressed with his shooting abilities from off the bounce but whenever things slowed down, displayed the willingness to get others involved. Locke finished top-five in the event in scoring the ball and while UNCG is the only program that has offered so far, he tracks as a high priority recruit in 2018. Isaiah Mucius, SF, St. James School, 2018: Whenever Mucius is on the hardwood, you aren’t going to find many better long-term guys in the entire gym. That again could have been said this past Saturday at the DMV Elite 80 event and while there were loads of talented prospects on hand, Mucius has unbelieve length, ball skills, and talent at his fingertips that can make him elite. The 6-foot-7 wing is actually best on the ball as he can facilitate his team’s offense and is good for hitting from off the pull-up from 15. While he does have to settle less and get in a better rhythm by slicing to the basket, there’s a reason that St. John’s and Wake Forest recently offered the New York native, who is due to explode this winter as a top flight 2018 recruit on the east coast. Immanuel Quickley, CG, John Carroll School, 2018: The feel and composure out of Immanuel Quickley is off the charts good. Quickley will replace 6-foot guard Elijah Long at John Carroll School, who heads to Mount St. Mary’s to start his college career, as the sophomore should be an immediate producer at either guard spot this winter. Standing 6-foot-3 but with the ability to make others better but also score the ball at the rack, Quickley never plays outside of himself on the floor. The mechanics on his jumper need some further tinkering but the potential is evidently clear with the jumbo sized lead guard who can take over games in spurts as Quickley has the makings of a priority, high-major recruit in 2018 who already holds offers from program such as URI, Washington, and Cincinnati. www.hoopseen.com/index.php/news/headlines/item/3494-dmvelite-80-2018-standouts?utm_content=bufferbb2a8&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer

Capitol Hoops is in the midst of releasing our 2015 edition of player rankings. 2019 was released last week and over the next week we will be releasing 2017, and 2016. Ranking players is a difficult process. With the help of almost a dozen high school coaches, AAU coaches, and various people in the media we feel that we have a very comprehensive list. While it is never possible to get these 100% accurate, we feel that we are very close. Rankings represent a combination of production and potential. Today we release the class of 2018 (sophomores). To all of the people who helped with this process I would like to thank you for your help. 2018 — Top 50 Rank Name Pos School 1 Jalen Smith F Mt. St Joseph 2 Prentiss Hubb PG Gonzaga 3 Isaiah Mucius WF St James 4 Montez Mathis G Oak Hill 5 Myles Dread WF Gonzaga 6 Immanuel Quickley PG John Carroll 7 Brandon Slater WF Paul VI 8 Noah Locke G McDonough 9 Koran Moore C St Frances 10 Rasir Bolton PG Milwood 11 D’Marco Baucum F Bishop O’Connell capitolhoops.com/?p=5277

This kid and Keldon Johnson on the same AAU team is just unfair... Smh Ohh my....that kid must be ungaurdable at the age with his size, footwork (or like Shaq says feet-work), explosiveness, hands and soft touch that was displayed in that video. I read he had to give up football because he got to big. If he is already 6'10".....The staff needs to be all over this kid along with Keldon.

I like that he takes what's there. How he shoots is dependent on his position, his angle or where the D is/are. Shows a certain understanding of the game and a skill set as opposed to just trying muscle and dunk or chuck it up.
