Deonte Burton transferring? Now that is a bit of a shock. Wojo must feel like he won't fit his team going forward and is going to give a ton of minutes to this incoming class next year. They might give Depaul a run for their money this year at the bottom.

www.gomarquette.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/120914aaa.htmlThis apparently Marquette down to nine scholarship players. Looks like a very long season ahead for MU. Dare I say it. . .we might actually win a game in Milwaukee this season! Meanwhile, the Marquette forum doesn't appear overly broken up over the impeding transfers, seeming to focus on the need for Steve Wojciechowski to recruit his type of player as compared to what one poster referred to as the "hyper athletic" type recruited previously by Buzz Williams. They've pretty much written off this season, from the looks of things. www.muscoop.com/index.php?topic=45613.125

At least they'll get a number one draft pick out of it....Oh wait, this isn't the Sixers. Seems to meet you could find a way to put a band aid on things and get the most out of what was still in the cupboard. Burton could definitely be used but I guess you don't second guess the Wojo

I knew Wojo was a sphincter but this is really fast... You can take the obnoxious floor slapper out of Duke but you can't take Duke out of the obnoxious floor slapper.

I think it's more about the 2 kids see the writing on the wall. They aren't gonna play next year. Marquette is gonna be really good next year.

Totally respect what WoJo is doing. I hope he is cleaning house and can get them to be a staple in the Top 20 going forward.
Stop hating on Wojo. Quette hung with the Big East and we need strong brothers. Nice that we have a high profile, Coach K groomed coach to grow with us in a reemerging Big East. We should all hope Wojo is very talented and successful at Marquette.

I hope Marquette stays a strong program in spite of that floor slapping little turd.

Totally the opposite of my thinking, Elvado. Strong coaches (see inception of original Big East) transcend conference and are able to recruit top flight kids to their program, regardless of conference affiliation. Once the conference gets a reputation, then that helps bring up all programs within. But at the outset, we need strong coaches to prove the new model, hoops-focused architecture is the superior basketball league.
Like it or not, we need great coaches at the other schools to help build us up again, Wojo, and his once annoying floor slapping, included.

Once annoying? It was ALWAYS annoying and remains so. We can wish MU well without actually embracing Wojo and his childish antics.

Disagree, weed. Wishing Marquette well has to assume that Wojo is a successful recruiter and game coach. Would love it if Marquette was great because of Wojo, not in spite of Wojo. Because then we are building strength in the conference from the ground up and will give top recruits reason to play not just for Marquette, but in the Big East. If this happens at Georgetown, Villanova, Marquette, St. John's, etc. we are all better off long-term.
Keep the big picture, guys. We made a gutsy move to launch a new, best-in-class hoop-focused conference architecture. The floor slapping objection is silly in my mind.

Completely respect your view. That said, Wojo is little more than Count Chocula's valet. Screw him.

Not surprising Hoiberg loves to take transfers from big name schools. Marquette recruiting class for 2015 is really good. They have 4 top 100 players coming in plus Luke Fischer the transfer from Indiana has been playing well for them.
