I personally don't mind the Churchwell comparison at all but I'm not so sure how our friend Ranch will feel about it.. Another poster compared Kodye Pugh to Churchwell and it didn't go over well in RD's world.. LOL
Btw, Reggie Rankin from ESPN compared Kaleb to a young Lamar Johnson in his write up after Kaleb committed to G'town..

And it's not because both are lefties either. There games are almost identical on the tapes I've seen. I was wondering if we were still going to be on Kodye because they seem to identical. Whit and Otto were interchangeable but not identical.

Kodye remains a major target. Good to hear; thanks. I don't think you can ever have too many long, versatile players.

It's not far fetched to see a wing roster of Copeland, Peak, White, Mourning, Derrickson, Agua, Johnson & Pugh... That'll work in my book..

True Indeed but they are kinda interchangeable or possible "stretch" type players so I counted them and Derrickson on the list..

Friday, February 13, 2015 BOYS BASKETBALL Carlisle 64, Liberty Christian 46 Carlisle school's boys basketball team is clicking on all cylinders ahead of tournament time, and the Chiefs showed how dominant they can be in a 64-46 home win over Liberty Christian Academy on Thursday night. The game was in hand early for the Chiefs. They opened up a 21-6 lead in the opening 5:30 of the game and carried a 41-17 lead into the half. “I thought we came out ready to play and showed a lot of intensity in the first half,” head coach Jason Niblett said. “I like the way things are heading.” Quentin Jackson Jr. and Kaleb Johnson scored 15 points apiece while Yesid Mosquera-Perea added 14. In a balanced scoring effort, Akim Mitchel had 9, Ian Steere had 8 and Adrian Hatfield had 7 to round out the scoring for the Chiefs. www.martinsvillebulletin.com/article.cfm?ID=45459

Carlisle entered the game needing another quality win and they got it in impressive fashion, winning 83-74 behind the superb play of 4-Star junior point guard Quentin Jackson Jr. and 4-Star Georgetown-bound senior forward Kaleb Johnson. The two stars combined for 40 points and helped shut down VES’s UVA-bound junior big man Sacha Killeya-Jones and ACC-caliber junior point guard Justice Kithcart. Carlisle led by as many as 21 before a late run by VES cut it to single digits. Though the score only shows a nine point difference, the game was a blowout. Carlisle is now 5-4 in the conference and, despite being in the middle of the pack rankings-wise, they look to be a contender in the conference and state tournaments. A big reason for their success is Georgetown-bound Kaleb Johnson. A 4-Star prospect, Johnson is listed as a small forward but his game is really a blend of all five positions. When I watch him play, I think of Lamar Odom because he plays all over the court. Sometimes he’ll post up and sometimes he’ll play the point. His size (6’6”) and speed allow him to be an effective 1-4 defender in any defensive scheme and his athleticism and length make him a surprisingly effective rim protector in chase-down and drive situations. The biggest challenge coach Thompson will face when Johnson arrives in DC will likely be figuring out where to play Johnson on the court www.todaysu.com/recruiting/basketball-recruiting/recruiting-spotlight-4-star-georgetown-commit-kaleb-johnson/

Kardashian or not, Odom's skill set is very JTIII friendly.

Wow, that article is really starting to make me excited about Kaleb. Seems like a humble guy, but hugely versatile. I especially love how the description of him as being excellent from the high post - critical for our offense!

Excellent passer at 6'6"? Like! If he can recruit T. Maker and bring both of their little brothers, he'll be one of the all-time greatest Hoyas.

in watching Butler play over the last few weeks - I realized that Roosevelt Jones' game may have certain similarities to Johnson's game - at least as far as you can tell from the clips of johnson posted here. Jones is so good at that funky mid-range stuff. he scores in the lane without getting all the way to the rim with great success. A lot of floater-type shots, often using the glass, almost all with his right hand. They have real different body types, but Johnson seems to have a similar feel for that kind of funky floater/bank shot around the hoop, with his left hand - without getting all the way to the rim on a lot of his successful drives. Jones can't really shoot from outside the lane - it seems that Johnson shot a lot better from outside this year, so hopefully his game will be more versatile offensively than Jones' game. But if johnson can score around the hoop anywhere near as effectively as Jones did on the college level - Johnson would be a very valuable player.
