He was a non factor in this game and didn't pick up the shooting when DSR was sitting and you had a lineup of perimeter non shooters with Bowen, Hopkins, Jabril and Tre Campbell in at the same time. Frankly, I felt he played too much in the first half because Peak was ineffective and when they made their run and it was only when we made the adjustment at halftime to bring in Copeland to take Tre Campbell's minutes that we started to look good.

Overall, I am very pleased with what Tre has brought. I did have one moment of frustration. In the 2nd half of the Wisconsin, Tre found himself with ball on the left baseline isolated against Frank Kaminsky. He has the quickness to blow past and get a foul. Instead he passed out of it. Next time, he has that kind of mismatch, he has to exploit it. I remember that vividly and I agree, but Tre has not been the only one guilty of this, in fact, none of our guards seem to look to exploit mismatches after switches off the bounce. The only mismatches our offense seems concerned with is the ones in the post, but you'd think by virtue of seeing Mikael and Josh pulled away from the basket regularly by other teams we might've learned by now...

Tre is going to have ups and downs, and the jump in talent that the Hoyas just experienced these last 3 days probably opened his eyes a little to what it will take. No doubt he can handle it, but it takes time. All of these freshmen are just learning right now. What is amazing is seeing their ability and knowing they will be great players in the near future some quicker than others, but all 4 that have played minutes have a ridiculously bright future.

It's not just the guards. Josh wouldn't back anyone down from the mid-key. So annoying.

Anytime Josh tried to back a defender down from the middle of the key he was called for an offensive foul. That's why he stopped trying.

Well he has to be conscious of collapsing defenders and double teams, and I'm not sure if you've noticed that a lack of good peripheral vision has been one of his weaknesses. He often only registers help defenders at the last possible moment, couple that with the fact that our opponents have been allowed to hack him and that he has a propensity to get called for the offensive foul the further he is from the basket backing down defenders from the mid-post would just be a turnover waiting to happen. Plus he still dribbles too high to take more than a couple dribbles in the post without it being poked away.

Remember that Josh only has a few games in this system. He had a couple of great assists to the abandoned man cutting to the hoop yesterday. Hopefully that continues - and with Cope and White playing, we will have guys with length who can convert that assist at the rim.

If anyone is interested in seeing evidence of how quick Tre actually is, check about the 13:34 mark in the first half, they try to trap him on the perimeter but he said Nope not today and easily dribbled away from the trap. Little things like that matter. Heady play for a frosh. Just shows that he's preparing properly

Sounded like an illness, from trying to read the tea leaves of yesterday's JTIII post-game remarks. No inside info here, though.

A deficiency of Vitamin D? Well done! It took me a few seconds to get it, but by far the most concise analysis I've eve seen on this board. I do hope he's over whatever ailed him on tuesday. We do need another outside threat on friday.

One of the articles after the Maryland game quoted JT3 saying he asked Tre about ability to go in the second half and he told coach he couldn't. Thompson said he would be looking into it and doing what it takes to get him back on the floor.
Sounded like injury or illness. But, if not going to NYC perhaps it is more than sick.

A deficiency of Vitamin D? It was Tre who said he couldn't go, not Thompson sitting him.

Without any information whatsoever, I'm going with illness. An injured player would likely travel with the team and sit courtside in street clothes. Not so much with someone suffering through the flu.
