Meanwhile, our friends in Lower Canadia are helping spread hysteria by dis-inviting a Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer from coming to Syracuse because he was in Liberia 3 weeks ago. This same photographer has most recently been working at the CDC with the Center's director. But clearly he can't be trusted to enter the perimeter of so critical a piece of the national infrastructure as Syracuse! The photographer does not mince words about the Pani-Cuse:

A Democratic political insider with no experience in health field but ties to Solyndra - or so I've read. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

A Democratic political insider with no experience in health field but ties to Solyndra - or so I've read. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Ron grew up in Indiana and is a lifelong Democrat, but this is less about a political appointment and more about getting a plan of action together. Dr. Frieden was ill-equipped to be either a tactician nor a communicator, and it showed. Dana Perino commented yesterday on The Five that former Senator Dr. Bill Frist (R-TN)would have been the ideal pick, but it's not clear if this was something he even sought gievn his other health initiatives. Absent a medical background, Ron will need to manage a plan set from above, and that's what it will take to corral all the loose ends of the health care, law enforcement, and public policy communities out there who have to be on the same page as far as any infectious disease planning go.

To coordinate whole-of-government efforts, you need someone who is an experienced intergovernmental manager. That person doesn't need to be an epidemiologist, because the problems they are solving aren't medical - we have plenty of experts who focus their whole lives on that - but bureaucratic. You wouldn't want to pick a person like this to head a health agency for a longer period of time, but in a short-term situation, crisis management and leadership skills can be much more important that functional expertise. Anyway, more gleeful Syracuse-bashing, this time from The Washington Post: Syracuse University bravely saves students from exposure to journalism

What a lame political trope from you. Not a surprise though.

If I were a parent of a child at Syracuse University now, I would be asking for a tuition refund. S M H

Hope he does a bettter job here than his efforts in attempting to steal Florida ensure democracy is upheld and the will of the people is honored in 2000. Fixed that for you, Vado. Your use of the word "stolen" is especially Orwellian since that's exactly what Bush and his thug-team did....

Either way he failed. If his guy really won and he still lost it might be even worse than the converse.
I for one would have asked someone who won to help out...
Not an Al Gore retread loser.
Chocolate and Vanilla I guess...

Your use of the word "stolen" is especially Orwellian since that's exactly what Bush and his thug-team did.... I usually stay away from political discussions here but--and at the risk of hijacking this thread--I hate the false narrative that Bush stole the 2000 election. In litigation, Gore asked only for four heavily democratic counties to recount their ballots, his reasons for focusing on those counties are self-apparent. Not only did the Supreme Court find that treating voters from different counties differently violated the Constitution (by a vote of 7-2, not 5-4), but if Gore got exactly what he asked for he still would have lost. Only if there had been a state-wide recount of all rejected ballots would Gore have had a chance to win, but he never asked for that. Don't take my word for it: www.nytimes.com/2001/11/12/politics/12VOTE.html. I hope this doesn't change the discussion here to an election from 14 years ago. But I cannot resist responding to a charge that Bush and his "thugs" stole the 2000 election in light of the consortium study.

So let me get this straight - in Elvado-logic, David Plouffe and Katherine Harris are more qualified to lead the sharing of information between government agencies than Klain.
Did they teach logic courses at Georgetown in the 80's? </pertinax>

Just thinking out loud...

Klain off to flying start as he misses first two meetings on topic and skips House hearings.
Probably busy measuring for drapes in Podesta's office.

So he did attend the meetings and will appear before the House?
As for my talking points subscription, it comes from the same clearing house that published the Internet Video sparked Benghazi lies...

One death, three cases.
And this is now a serious election issue as if the Obama Administration invented Ebola and is force feeding it to our nation's children while wearing 'I <3 ISIS' t-shirts.
The cynical demagoguery around this issue is disgusting, but not surprising.
