Memphis produced Lorenzo Wright(RIP), Earl Barron, Joey Dorsey actually signed with Rockets this season, Keith Lee( greatest big to play at Memphis). The only person on this list I've heard of is Joey Dorsey--did any of them play in the NBA? Not to mention that Joey Dorsey didn't exactly develop much during his four years at Memphis. Heck, Vernon "airballed free throws" Macklin was a better free throw shooter than Dorsey. Seriously--Macklin made a higher percentage of his free throws than Joey Dorsey did. So yeah, not a lot of big guys for Memphis to hang their hats on. Yes all those dudes played in the NBA. Keith Lee was a 4 time All-American and 11th pick to the Celtics. Earl Barron won a championship with the Heat. Lorenzen Wright was a good role player in the NBA. Look forward to saying Skal and Austin are Memphis products when they declare.

And Keith Lee was a bum in the pros with no work ethic whatsoever. William Bedford was a coke fiend. Dorsey stinks and Barron was 13th man on the Heat. You may get Skal but it is certainly not because Memphis produces quality big men. True we are known for producing guards. Nice to see Joe Jackson sign a contract with the Suns and Crawford with Cleveland. We are hoping having Robert Kirby in charge of the bigs. He help Shaq make huge strides last year and Austin got better as the season went on. Louisville couldn't stop Shaq and Austin.

With trolls or other monsters, it's always best to consult The Simpsons: To stop those monsters, one-two-three, Here's a fresh new way that's trouble-free, It's got Paul Anka's guarantee.. Just don't look! Just don't look! It's not our fault a top 10 national player no.3 Center wants to play for us. Hey our coaches are cold blooded on the recruiting trail. When Nick Marshall commited to us. Florida coaches got all butt hurt that he chose Memphis over Florida. Don't know what bigs see at our guard oriented program but whatever I am not going to complain.

Pretty sure you're more known for vacating wins than anything else but, with regard to pros, CDR, Rose, and Tyreke have given you a bit of credibility. Of course that's more credited with your previous coach.

It's an honor to know we beat out UK for a recruit again. Will Barton, Skal Labissiere, Joe Jackson, and Dedric Lawson. Good times

Derrick Rose and Penny Hardway, i think, put them in top 25 in terms of producing NBA talents. Not to mention CDR and Tyreke Evans do get solid minutes in the league with the latter being former ROY. Mostly talking about the ones he was so proud of in his post about beating out UK for recruits. Not too many schools out there who don't have at least one or two good to great NBA players if they have been a basketball school for a decent period of time. Not sure if Memphis gets top 25 though.....they've had a number of guys get to the league, but not many success stories compared to many other schools. I'd have to take more time to look at it though and I guess it depends how far back you go. Well Chris Crawford, Joe Jackson, Adonis Thomas, Will Barton, and Elliot Williams are on NBA squads and it's to early too know how they will pan out because it is so early. Barton is backup PG for the Blazers this year and Williams plays meaningful PT for the Sixers. Jury is still out on Thomas, Joe, and Chris. We aren't expecting those guys to be All-Stars but just role players. The kids on our current roster have NBA upside to be more than a role player pending their progression.

I think you need to revisit your definition of meaningful. When the team you play on goes 19-63, looses 26 games in a row, and did all they can to lose even more games....I am pretty sure none of those minutes are truly meaningful

That is a honor in itself. I like the have more memphis players in the NBA. DRose and Tyreke are the headliners for our school in present day NBA.

Why are any Georgetown people getting into Editeding contests with a Memphis guy about quality NBA products? It's not close. We know why a lot of the guys that have gone to Memphis have gone to Memphis. They make the NBA because they were going to anyway and arrive there, essentially, the same players they entered Memphis being because the good ones were one and done. They were at Memphis to showcase their game. It was a place for auditions, not development. That's not true of the majority of our guys or our program. To each their own. Calipari "gets" the most guys into the NBA and that's some sort of accomplishment apparently. He has nearly zero to do with that. He only provided a comfy spot for the layover. Pastner, similarly, has yet to prove he can do much more than recruit. He's improving as a coach. I will give him that. But not to the level to which he should be able to pull top level recruits considering his conference. I'm not saying he's doing anything illegal. But he sure does give out jobs easily, doesn't he?

We will probably finish 8-4. It's good to be good at football and basketball again.

But, yes, apparently you suck less than usual this year.

Agree to disagree. 1-1 in your conference is nothing to be excited about.
