Watching him, DeLaurier and Diakite vs Wenyan Gabriel and Mass Rivals. Just give me one of the three. Doesn't matter which, just give me one and I'd be happy. All of these kids are real nice and have great motors!

From Rivals: "For a good part of the 17U title game at the adidas Summer Championship, the Mass Rivals held a comfortable lead over Team Loaded Virginia. Over the final 10 minutes, though, Team Loaded's ability to throw a three-man rotation of active and talented four-star big men Sacha Killeya-Jones, Javin Delaurier and Mamadi Diakite proved to be too much as Loaded won a thriller 76-74. While the trio combined for 38 points and 18 rebounds, it was the contribution of Killeya-Jones that proved to be the biggest down the stretch. The highly skilled power forward hit on some tough jumpers, made a huge play late with an offensive rebound and dunk, and he showed grit. In the past, one of the knocks against Killeya-Jones has been that he plays too much of a finesse game. Over the course of the summer he's become much tougher around the rim on both ends of the floor and Sunday was a true reflection of that. Currently ranked No. 51 in the class of 2016, Killeya-Jones has positioned himself for another climb in the next set of rankings." basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1786428

I assume JTIII wasn't there because the camera didn't show him when they panned to all the college coaches in the stands. Do we have any assistants there to watch the three VA bigs?

Not sure what our chances are with any of them considering the blue bloods recruiting them, but it would be great to have one of these three to go with two other guards in our 2016 class. All three have length, talent, and the upside to get even much better. Although SKJ and DeLaurier really need to work on their free throws....looked really ugly in that game...

From Rivals: "Sacha Killeya-Jones -- The thin face-up four-man has made big strides since bursting onto the scene during the spring of 2014. With his shooting range and fluid athleticism, Killeya-Jones is pushing his way towards five-star status in the class of 2016." basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1791660

More from that article: Since he backed off his pledge to Virginia, Killeya-Jones has fielded scholarship offers from Kentucky, North Carolina, NC State, Connecticut, Kansas, Florida and others. I don't see GU listed and we don't usually win battles when so many of those big time programs are involved.

While you are right we don't often win battles against those programs, we offered before he committed to UVA so I don't think we'd be included in that group. It's also not a direct quote from the player but rather the author's estimation of what programs he wanted to list. I have no idea why so many people have so much respect for NC State.

The kid just asn't that into GTown from the beginning. He wanted to go to one of the big boys and as soon as he got word that it was a possibility he dropped UVA and waited for the offer. We should want kids that want GTown and we shouldn't be bummed out because he never wanted GTown.............

Kentucky gets verbal from Wenyan Gabriel, is it possible that SKJ got recruited over twice this year?

Slimy Calipari has apparently promised Gabriel that he will play the SF and SKJ will play the PF

If true (that Killeya-Jones is being recruited over by Calipari), good luck finding any sympathy. Anyone heading to Kentucky knows what they are getting into with Calipari. You take the good (and there is plenty to attract the top players) with the bad...

SKJ is transferring. He lost minutes as the year went on and looks to lose more with EJ Montgomery committing. He actually had solid #s for a role player and could be a good 2019 addition.
Edit: just saw this is already mentioned in the transfer thread but good to have this discussion back up front too
