In the re-formulated league I no longer have a Boeheim Exception team. I want/we need very team to do well(except when they're playing us). Best wishes to Coach and Butler. Hope you're back soon.

Georgetown missed the NCAA tournament last year for the first time since 2009, but the Hoyas are in great shape to get back there this season thanks in part to Smith. Before being ruled ineligible and getting permanently attached to the bench, Smith scored at least 11 points in seven of Georgetown's first nine games last year. If he is both physically and academically eligible to play at least 20 minutes per game for at least 30 games, he'll team with Mikael Hopkins and Isaac Copeland to form the most dominant frontcourt in the Big East. bleacherreport.com/articles/2214439-former-5-star-recruits-wholl-impact-2014-15-cbb-season-after-gaining-experience/page/4

No. 37 Georgetown (10 seed, Big East at-large bid): D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera, a favorite to win Big East Player of the Year, leads a cast of returners while Georgetown will welcome the most talented freshman class in the conference (rated No. 9 recruiting class in the country via Rivals). Isaac Copeland, L.J. Peak and Paul White will all be ready to contribute right away as the Hoyas recharge for a resurgent season after a topsy-turvy 2013-14 that included a five-game losing streak and saw Georgetown lose six of its last nine. 2014-15 college hoops countdown: Projecting the 68 NCAA tournament teams www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaab/2014/09/16/2014-15-college-hoops-countdown-projecting-the-68-ncaa-tournament-teams/15417777/

2014 Non-Tournament Teams That Will Make the 'Big Dance' This Season bleacherreport.com/articles/2197127-2014-non-tournament-teams-that-will-make-the-big-dance-this-season/page/5Two factors, however, lead to optimism that those capable hands can be replaced. One is the presence of Big East Player of the Year candidate D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera. DSR is likely to replace Starks at the point this season, giving him tremendous input into the flow of the Georgetown offense. At 6'3" and a muscular 215 pounds, he's a difficult matchup for most mortal floor generals. The other cause for optimism stems from a pair of talented freshman forwards that may see extended minutes immediately. Isaac Copeland and Paul White headline a recruiting class ranked No. 11 in the nation by the 247Sports composite. Copeland in particular has the required shooting range to make an immediate impact on the wing. White will provide mid-range scoring and tenacious work on the glass.

Hoping for the Top 25 Georgetown: John Thompson III is confident that Joshua Smith will be eligible this year, and when Smith is on the floor, he is a dominant offensive force. Given that Smith has never played 20 minutes a game, and rarely played a full season of games, I’m a little skeptical that he can dominate for a full year. But even if Smith does not play major minutes, the Hoyas are still going to be substantially improved because of a strong recruiting class that includes Top 100 recruits Isaac Copeland, LJ Peak, and Paul White. Their size and athleticism should easily compliment a back court of D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera and Jabril Trawick. For a team that gave major minutes to three offensive liabilities last year, I will be shocked if Georgetown’s offense is not better. But my real question is on defense. In January, I wrote how some coaches appeared to be adapting poorly to the change in the way fouls were being called. Despite the fact that their teams have fouled at a fairly consistent rate throughout their careers, John Thompson III, Roy Williams and Bill Self were all fouling at a dramatically higher rate than they had historically. Big East teams are also home to some of the best young talent in college basketball. Georgetown's Isaac Copeland was ranked as a four-star prospect and in the Top 30 by 247Sports, and Seton Hall's Isaiah Whitehead was arguably the best guard in high school basketball last year and a highly touted recruit. Billy Garrett Jr., had an outstanding year for DePaul last year, and decided to attend the university even though he had more premier offers from Stanford and UNLV. Now under the leadership of former Duke coach, Steve Wojciechowski, Marquette has recruited very well and is in the mix with Michigan State and Kentucky for Henry Ellenson, a five-star big man. www.bigeastcoastbias.com/2014/9/30/6592147/big-east-recruiting-roundup-big-east-at-par-with-other-power

Ranking College Basketball Conferences by Projected 2015 NCAA Tournament Bids By Kerry Miller , College Basketball National Columnist 3. Big East Locks: Villanova Should Dance: Georgetown, Xavier Might Dance: Seton Hall, St. John's Outside Shot: Butler, Creighton, Providence Score: 42.5 Even more than the A-10 down in 10th place, seeing the Big East in third place on this list surprised me the most. Granted, the Big East is less than one point ahead of both the ACC and Pac-12, and no one would have much issue with it being in fifth place. Still, it's a testament to how much of a bounce-back year this conference should have after comfortably sending only two teams to last year's tournament. bleacherreport.com/articles/2218503-ranking-college-basketball-conferences-by-projected-2015-ncaa-tournament-bids/page/9

Yaboy, thanks for the links. No word about Hayes. He will be good for more than 5 mins and will help out with the C by committee.
