I saw somewhere that Porter is the god son of Washington coach Romar....which could make things more interesting. What are the odds Romar is still a high major coach by the time this kid gets to college? He seems to be on the ropes right now...

also if that's true why weren't they a factor in Otto's recruitment at all?

Why would the two necessarily be linked?

The whole thing with Otto was very few people knew about him for a long time. You would think the godfather of a cousin would have known about Otto pretty early on no?

I'm not saying this to disparage Otto, but having him disappear to the end of the bench and be considered a big flop in his rookie season may serve to temper some of that enthusiasm. Hopefully Otto will make strides with the Wiz in the future and his rookie season will be forgotten. The cousin will not have less enthusiasm when his cousin is making 4 million dollars a year. I seriously doubt he considers Otto a flop or failure for having picked Georgetown and getting 4 mil to sit on a 2nd round playoffs teams bench. Otto will be playing regularly by '17. Yes, the question is whether he's with the Wizards by that time.

Hope we have some success the next few years to entice this kid to come join the program, we already know how awesome the Porters are.

Has quite the list, wouldn't mind adding a G-town offer to it...we know he'll make it here.

We should recruit him using a (likely) fake ancestry.com pitch relating him to all Missouri Porters. Who wouldn't want to go to the same school as their NBA seventh cousin, twice removed?

basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1689118Porter is aware of the general perception that Missouri will be tough to beat, but he says that he is open to all schools. In addition to Missouri, Porter said that Iowa and Indiana have been by to see him. Duke and North Carolina will both be in to see him in the next few weeks and he holds offers from Mizzou, Kansas, Baylor, Wichita State, Washington, Colorado, Marquette and Illinois.I hope the staff makes a run at the kid..

You have to think that the staff has followed this kid, no? Maybe he's not interested in the Hoyas and that's why he's, seemingly, not on our radar?
