I'd like to begin a thread full of nothing but rampant speculation about what Bradley Hayes did to JTIII to find himself--all SEVEN FEET of him--relegated so far to the end of the bench that he can't even get a minute of playing time when our other big-man options are playing like garbage anyway.
I think that Hayes has a car on campus, and he kinda ran over JTIII's dog.

Brandon Bolden would mostly have been sharing the space too if he was still here.

Given the circumstances, seeing how there was no clearer situation for when a center was needed to play for the second game in a row, but the coach picked a 6'6 walk-on to play the 5 instead of you, a sophomore 7 footer, would you stay at GU if you're B. Hayes?

Having seen Hayes play in Kenner, I'm surprised he's allowed in the locker room.

lol @ another vicious thread about ripping one of our players
i understand some of your frustrations, but this has most to do with JT3 recruiting him at the first place. i remember questioning recruiting him, then there were a lot of posters defending him that he is relatively unknown star who is an upcoming star... would like to ask what they saw in him during high school.
i hope he does well though. we have seen henry made a big comeback, maybe hayes can do the same at some point.

Not to speak for Strummer but I think he started the thread so folks could make up crazy reasons to explain why Hayes is rooted to the bench..
Don't think it was meant to be taken seriously..

Im a proponent of having your flyer type schollies used on bigs rather than "shooters" or undersized pgs..so I have no problem with what has happened to Bradley so far. Maybe the light will turn on at some point. If not no big loss pun not intended.

Be encouraged by the fact that Raftery said on telecast that "this guy will help them down the line; [gus], didn't you get the sense that he'll help them - in looking at him in practice?"
I'm in the Hayes camp. AB's camp. Domingo's camp. Heck I think Riyan Williams could be another spot ball handler for this team (although he doesn't know the "offense" yet)

You're quite right. And to anyone who accidentally does take it seriously, I hope you realize I'm not bashing Hayes at all. I actually think he should get some minutes. Again, could it be any worse than what our bigs give us already?

But hopefully he keeps improving and becomes a contributor, next year or even this year.

It's okay to recruit projects. The key is development. If that is occurring in practice then great. Hard to gauge where this kid is based upon the 10 minutes of play so far. The real issue is if he is a project then why blow a year of eligibility last year for what was an incredibly small amount of time on the floor. This year appears to be more of the same.

This is the Kirk Cousins thread. Love the guy who is the back-up until he plays. If the kid isn't ready, then so be it. We always talk about players being too impatient and not sticking with programs. Henry was the antithesis of this and it worked for him. Guys used to never play their first few years unless they were exceptional. Now you are a bust if you aren't contributing in year two. As a big, his time will come if he works at his game.
Another note is he was no Henry Sims coming out of high school. Sims was a top 50 recruit I believe and Hayes was a late bloomer and virtual unknown.

FYI Bradley held his own in the Kenner League , I can tell you this if you played Roy you can play Bradley it's as simple as that he's 7 feet tall...he can block shots rebound play defense has a nice jump hook and he can dunk LOL...he's a pretty tough kid...the time he's play in game few games this season he's done well in the little time he's gotten...

Different situation. In Roy, Jeff, Jon's freshman year, we were void of talent on the frontline. You had Bowman, Owens and then a sophomore Kilkenny Diaw and a freshman Cornelio Guibunda. That was it. Hayes would have gotten minutes on that '04/'05 squad and if you recall, we went a lot of times with Jeff playing the 5 we were so desperate. Circumstances have fortunately changed.

The real issue is if he is a project then why blow a year of eligibility last year for what was an incredibly small amount of time on the floor. This year appears to be more of the same. +1000 The staff blew it by not redshirting him last season after he spent his 1st summer at G'town hurt and then they doubled down by wasting another year of eligibility this season.. We all could see that Hayes wasn't going to be a part of the rotation this year so why not RS him, especially considering the program has a huge hole at the 5 spot in the coming years.. If JT3 doesn't feel he's ready to play I'm ok with that but it looks to me like he's not even part of the future either.. When Caprio is a better option in the front court than the 7 footer sitting on the bench that speaks volumes.. JT3 should have let the kid go when Bolden left if he wasn't going to give him a shot..
