Ponds had an astonishing 51 stls in 18 Eybl games.... Yakwe is a really good defensive big. Only 6'8 but led EYBL in Blocks, high motor kid. Rivals likes Ponds... Shamorie Ponds -- Ponds is an offensive minded point guard and can even play as a small two. He backed up his recent move up to No. 45 nationally and was an effective player. Because of fast hands he has a chance to be an outstanding defender and he averaged right around 13 points, three rebounds and two assists per game. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1783649This kind of profile is exactly what we need from a guard recruit. We have a lot of guys moving forward with diverse offensive skillsets, but no guys who profile as great defenders. IMO, our biggest weakness going into next season will be perimeter defense, and specifically guys who have the lateral quickness to stay in front of opposing team's quick guards. Someone like Ponds would kill two birds with one stone: adding to a thin backcourt and getting a potentially good perimeter defender.

2019 post Jayson Murphy plays for Team Melo.. Long ways to go but Deke must have made quite an impression if he's already considered a "FutureHoya" by his Mom... haha www.chapelgateacademy.org/freshman-jason-murphy-heads-to-africa-with-the-nba/Rising CCA Freshman, Jason Murphy (pictured left) was among three student athletes selected out of many applications received by the NBA players union for an amazing opportunity. He will accompany the NBA on a trip to South Africa at the end of July. He will be joined by dozens of current and retired NBA players, as well as league officials and coaches. He will participate as a helper in basketball camps for teens and children from all over Africa, and in international community outreach. He will be featured in Sports Illustrated for kids as well as on NBA TV. He will get to sit with players at the first ever NBA Africa basketball game. Mrs. Murphy shared with his us that, “We are so excited and blessed by this opportunity and God willing, Big Jason (Dad), Jessica (little sister) and I will all accompany him”. The family was very thankful for the encouragement and letter of recommendation from our Varsity Men’s Basketball coach and Assistant Headmaster, Mr. Frick Frierson. Mom stated, “I am sure that it was a major factor in the decision to select Jason!”

Good call; the staff is listening! And I don't think we have to worry about academics with this kid...

Good call; the staff is listening! And I don't think we have to worry about academics with this kid... To be fair, we've long known the coaching staff monitors this site for recruiting insight.

Nope but there's no consensus that the OSN credits are the ones stopping him from getting cleared since he just spent a year at prep after NCAA didn't clear him at Baylor

Eubanks issue have nothing to do with Our Savior. His grade issues come from his first 3 years at American Heritage, a private high school in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. His family filed a law suit last year accusing the school of grade manipulation in an effort to keep him from transferring to OSNA in NY. The Eubanks family blames the high school for why he wasn't cleared by the NCAA and excepted into Baylor his original school he committed to before going to prep school in Florida. Kobe Eubanks sues High School

My thoughts are ESPN is disgusting and the NCAA is absurd for letting this happen.

Calipari is making the most of using ESPN as a marketing tool to constantly bring in recruits. Honestly though, what can you do? I'm sure other schools will do the exact same thing and follow UK's lead on it.
