I really wish the staff would make a run at this kid, it wasn't too long ago he was mentioning G'town..
I think he's a better version of Jared Nickens from Maryland, he could help fill the shooter role the program needs..

Do you think he has a good enough handle to play the 1 or 2 at the college level? For next year's roster, my biggest concern is ballhandling.

Definitely the 2 Talos but I wouldn't feel comfortable saying he could be a lead guard on the HM level.. There are write ups about him that state he's worked on it but to me he's a solid 2 guard with upside, a broken leg slowed his development some. The way Pitino is dumping kids at L'ville, I'd be shocked if they don't make a run at Ellison..

Now that we've sent a bunch their way, are there any Euro guards with NBA aspirations who would like a year in college to raise their profile and play the american game? I may be getting delusional.

Hopefully, this encourages the staff to go after this kid.

Anyone close with the staff know if we are swinging for the fences with a transfer or are we also trying to find a late bloomer/unsigned 2015 guard?

No interest from the staff, I'm just posting the info just in case he turns out to be a sleeper in the spring Craig Randall 2015 CG 6-3+ out of Arizona via Ohio.. His HS coach is Mike Bibby.. I read where Minnesota just offered Looks like he has some skills, I like his length.. Craig Randall, Shadow Mountain — An Ohio native now in Phoenix, Randall didn’t shoot well (5-17) but applied a great deal of pressure to Scott County and helped lift his squad to a relatively easy win. Randall is a skinny, very quick shooting guard who takes advantage of his southpaw scoring attack to slice into the paint for close-in attempts. He also moves his feet well defensively and gets out into transition. Bump.. The kid is still available.. zagsblog.com/articles/st-johns-st-marys-among-those-recruiting-point-guard-craig-randall/An Ohio native who moved to Arizona after his father took a job there, Randall ended up playing for coach Mike Bibby(Arizona/NBA Mike Bibby) and averaged 21.2 points, 5.6 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals this season for Shadow Mountain. Here's an ESPN write up from 1/28/15 Strengths: Craig is a slender, lefty combo guard. More of a 2 than a 1 right now. The lefty is a very good shooter with range to 22 feet. He can score off the dribble and off the catch. As a point guard he is a scorer first but is a capable passer and is smart enough to run a team. He is streaky and can score in bunches. He has a good basketball IQ and great size for a point guard.
Weaknesses: He needs to get stronger, improve the consistency of his defensive effort and continue the general improvement of his game. He is solid off the dribble and will improve as an off the bounce scorer as he continues to get bigger and stronger.
Bottom Line: Craig has a very good upside and has a chance to be better than his brother Kyle (Central Michigan/NBDL). He continues to grow and has grown almost 2 inches in the last 18 months. Craig's size and length give him the potential of being a lock down defender. Randall is a major sleeper in the 2015 class.
His brother avg'd 18 per game his sr year at Central Michigan..

The staff should get involved with him.. If he's entertaining SMU & Va. Tech why not G'town? insider.espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/evaluation/_/id/169288/brandon-sampsonESPN Analyst Updated 03/27/2015 Strengths: Sampson has all the physical traits to be a elite transition he can attack the rim and throw down the tomahawk dunk or nail the pull-up jump shot. He shows deep three point range and he can help at the point with his ability to drive draw and kick pass and start the halfcourt offense. Sampson has excellent length and excellent all around skill. Due to his size and skill set he should start being recognized as a Top 30 recruit for his class. Weaknesses: Sampson will need to add strength and continue to stay in attack mode throughout the game because he has the size, length and skill to be productive at a high level if he does so. On defense he will have to stay engaged especially on the ball and close out under control in order to improve on the defensive end of the floor. Bottom Line: Sampson is a skill shooting guard that has excellent length. He can score, pass and handle the ball and is a high major wing with great upside.

Louisiana was a hot for GTown back in the day. What Happen to that pipeline.

There still are some pretty good guards out there. But it seems your pleas are falling on deaf ears....

Providence reportedly has this kid in for an official right now.. Uconn & USC are also sniffing around him too.. Again this is what I think G'town's staff should be doing some of, kicking tires, finding players..
Currie had some grade issues early in HS which probably kept him under the radar, he's fully qualified now..
He plays with Lindsey Drew a PG who just de-committed from Arizona State after Sendek was let go..
A PC fan on Rivals main board asked about him and Bossi said he had him rated as a mid-major prospect..
ESPN write up from February..
ESPN Analyst Updated 02/13/2015
Strengths: Currie is an evolving scoring guard who is gifted as a scorer and facilitator. He has a solid frame with a nice combination of strength and length. His ball handling skills are phenomenal. He has a slick crossover, a hesitation dribble, stop-and-go, etc. He gets separation utilizing is quickness, burst, and skill. His pivot work while penetrating and looking for ways to score is flawless. If he doesn't get a good look at the basket, he will find an open teammate.
Weaknesses: Currie has many ways to improve his overall game. First and foremost is his energy level. He often disappears during games and overall he doesn't play real hard, especially on the defensive end. Secondly, he needs to improve his jump shot to keep his productive dribble/drive game open. He gets good lift on his shot, but his follow through is inconsistent.
Bottom Line: Currie has become one of the fastest rising prospects in the west with his ability to score, facilitate, and create scoring opportunities off the dribble.
ESPN gave him a 79 rating(same rating they gave Tre), here's their definition for that rating:
70-79: Mid-major plus prospect (3 stars) Player is a fringe high-major recruit who contributes or a standout mid-level recruit.

Etomicb can Currie play pg? What level of competition is he playing against? I would hate to have to face that kid for 3/4 years.
