Men get two commits this week. 800 runner Joe White chose Georgetown over Villanova. He finished 5th (150.5) at this past summers New Balance Outdoor National Track Meet. Men also got a commit from Chris Alvarado (8th FL NE and 39th at FL Nationals). Chris chose Georgetown over Stanford, Wisconsin, Michigan and Virginia. Solid start for Hoya recruiting 2014.

Alvarado was injured earlier in the season, but came back healthy to win the individual championships for his conference (SCC), state class (LL), and state open division. He finished fourth (behind two people he beat in the state open race) in today's New England championship race.

Chris Alvardo finished 20th in the Footlocker finals in San Diego today in a time of 15:47. It was an improvement over his 39th place finish last year. Here is a video of the finish line; Chris is wearing bib #52 in blue. You can easily count the first 20 runners across the line. footlockercc.com/2013/webcast.shtml

Two more recruits.
Nick Golebiowski (St. Cloud Cathedral) officially signs his Letter of Intent to run at Georgetown University. Nick has run a 1600m in 4:15.8
Aleta Looker on the women's side has a 2:16 800m.

Just saw that Aleta ran a 2:11 at the HS indoor natl champs--seems like she has a lot of upside.

The dyestat listing of our recruits for next year (and I don't think this is inclusive):
Alvarado, Christian Fairfield Prep, CT Anyanwu, Cristeen Episcopal, VA Donaghu, Piper Grant, OR Eastman, Autumn Champlain Valley Union, VT Golebiowski, Nick St. Cloud Cathedral, MN Knight, Jody Bentonville, AR Looker, Aleta Ellsworth, ME Perez, Madeline Glenbard West, IL Weisner, Kennedy Elk County Catholic, PA
Looks as if some of the female recruits are in the 2:11-2:12 range for 800m.
