zagsblog.com/articles/v-j-king-offers-piling-up/#more-100082“I never was the most athletic player on my team, even when I was 12 and 13 years old.” King told SNY.tv. “I had to find different ways to score and standout. I just play my game, and try to be calm and patient.” He recently has added offers from Georgetown and UConn, which join offers from Ohio State, Iowa State, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan State, Wisconsin and Charlotte. “Its a great honor to see that a coach like John Thompson III recognizes my game, and he likes what he sees,” King said. “It lets me know that the work I am doing is paying off. I’m still not a full player yet though. I’m not a finished product, I’m still working on my game, but it’s very nice to see that they have offered mePodcast Feat Mann and VJ King.. Gee, nice to see that he doesn't think he is a "finished product" after his freshman year!

This guy seems like a natural fit for Georgetown. Great shooter too.

Many have wondered the whereabouts of consensus top-10 sophomore VJ King at many of this fall’s elite showcase events. Some have speculated that VJ has been ducking the competition, but the now 6’7 sophomore has been in the gym putting in some serious work. Hitting both the weights and doing on court work, he has added considerable strength to his game along with an array of moves off of the dribble to add to his already lethal jumpshot. “We’re just staying in the gym and getting ready for the reason,” VJ’s father Vincent told CityLeagueHoops shortly before boarding a plane for this weekend’s USA Basketball trials. “There are so many events that you have to watch the miles on the tires.” The hard work has paid off, too. VJ now owns scholarships from nearly 20 programs, with a virtual laundry list of others vying for his services. “Ohio State, Wisconsin, Georgetown, Connecticut, Charlotte, Iowa, Iowa State, NC State, West Virginia, Virginia, Texas, Delaware State, UNC-Greensboro…I know I’m probably forgetting a few,” rattled off the father when probed about the schools who have offered his son a scholarship. “Kentucky, North Carolina, Harvard, UCLA, and Duke are also recruiting him hard. www.cityleaguehoops.net/2013/10/01/vj-king-is-quietly-at-work/

Otto Porter-type dad or Kyle Anderson-type dad? We don't stand a chance with the KA's.

would love to see him come here, but this type of player usually does not end up at Hilltop.
i'd say Kentucky/UNC/Duke written all over him.

Looking at JTIII's recruiting history, I think you're right. He hasn't had good luck with these types of players. However, Peak and Copeland are both extremely athletic and explosive, and may help change that in the future.

Think Joe Johnson!

"V.J. is athletic and he can really score," Snow said. "He's the protoype shooting guard for the highest level. He has all the tools." King's father, Vince, has answered all recruiting inquiries by saying the family is in no hurry to make a decision. Because V.J. is in the class of 2016, he has plenty of time. He was offered by Ohio State and Wisconsin during his freshman year and twice visited Ohio State's campus. He's since received offers from Arizona, Georgetown and Iowa, among others. King and Kennard play on the same King James AAU team. The point guard for that team is Dayton Dunbar's A.J. Harris, a junior already committed to Ohio State and the No. 88 player by Scout.com in the class of 2015. msn.foxsports.com/ohio/story/prospects-aplenty-in-ohio-high-school-hoops-011614
