Paul White leads Meanstreets
Meanstreets forward Paul White missed a lot of spring basketball to an injury including the May EYBL sessions. Is he fully healthy now? Based on his constant explosions around, over, and through the Oakland Soliders defense I would say yes.
Meanstreets demolished the Oakland Soliders 70-48 and the game was a bigger blowout than the score showed. White set the tone early by ripping through on an out of position defender on the wing and then beating the help side defense to the rim with a two hand slam in late traffic. He also went 90 feet dribbling four times before scoring over the top of the long Oakland players. White also chased down a putback gathering and finishing over his opponents and he attacked middle to hit a pull-up jumper.
White showed a lot of versatility with or without the ball on both ends of the floor. Because he can take bigs away from the basket White is allowed to often handle on the perimeter and sometimes bring the ball up for his team. He's also the point man when Meanstreets goes to their 1-3-1 zone meaning White is at the top of the key harassing guards with his lateral agility and length

One would think that White went for 40 and 20 based on the tweets. Btw, these box scores are great....thx!!

recruitscoop.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1524404White is looking to cut his list down very soon as his recruitment could come to a close by August at the earliest. Georgetown, Arizona, Marquette, Florida, Memphis and Minnesota are making a strong run after the 2014 forward. Georgetown had an advantage heading into the Live Period after the Hoyas got him on campus the weekend following the NBA Draft. Their sales pitch to him? Be the next Otto Porter. "It was a real honor even being mentioned with him," he said. "I really like that idea as I desire to play the small forward position."

"For now, the Chicago native is wide open, but plans to use his first official visit on either the Hoyas or Arizona in August. After that, he could wait and continue to take visits, or he could make up his mind."Looks like a 2 team race by that quote. I know he’s spoke highly of AZ in the past so we’ll see...

White's looking great. At this point, my #1 is Elbert Robinson. For #2, I'd take any one of Paul White, Devin Robinson, or Ben Bentil.

insider.espn.go.com/blog/dave-telep/post/_/id/3825/espn-100-prospects-star-at-peach-jamWhite turns in one of his best days of the summer Stretch 4-man Paul White (Chicago/Whitney Young) is one of those guys coaches like but certainly wanted to see more in terms of production. On Thursday, the production wasn’t a problem.
Florida’s Billy Donovan, Memphis’ Josh Pastner, Wisconsin’s Bo Ryan, UConn’s Kevin Ollie, Michigan State’s Tom Izzo and Illinois’ John Groce were courtside for what had to be White’s best game of the summer as the ESPN 100 forward went for 22 points and 11 rebounds.
The reason for White’s success was his mixture between perimeter and paint. Midway through the first half, he was called for a charge on a drive to the hoop. Immediately following, he changed up his strategy. The strength of his game is his skill, not his strength. So instead of trying to get all the way to the rim, he started shooting pull-ups in the paint. It opened things up in the lane and empowered his perimeter confidence. It was about as good a cocktail of skill and smarts as I’ve seen him string together in a year.
After the game, White said Georgetown and Arizona were likely to lock in official visits. I'm really liking this kid's game, think he'd be a good fit @ G'town

Jonathan Givony @draftexpress 7m At the EYBL Peach Jam. Paul White suffered what appears to be a compound fracture in his forearm in the Howard Pulley-Meanstreets game.
Let's Hope for a nice recovery for the young man..

Well, at least it's not a compound fracture: Rob Dauster robdauster 4m RT @laurakeeley: A clear broken arm for Meanstreets' Paul White, about five feet from me (not compound though).
