best of luck to this kid... he was not gonna get much playtime anyway.. i see him as a less athletic and shorter/chubbier version of vernon macklin whose 2 years at hilltop did not mean much. as someone else above mentioned, only positoin he can play is 5, and he will be behind govan/hayes and possibly/hopefully rabb/skal. playing behind copeland/peak/derrickson at 4 would have been even worse. time to get some guards When Macklin got to Georgetown, all he did was run and jump. Noah has very good footwork, is good in the post, and based on recent camp reports has a much improved face up game with increasing range. Also, he's much more of a below the rim player than Macklin. I don't think losing Noah is the end of the world, but let's not pretend he's some scrub who wouldn't see the floor. And per the "time to get some guards" comment, I don't disagree, but let's not discount the very real chance we have at getting a commitment from one of the best F/C's in the class in Rabb. Getting him would be HUGE.

Given his track record of sticking to his word, is it a lock he ever plays for the Gators?

I like how we quickly went from excitement at his commitment to (1) he might not have seen the floor for us, and (2) he's a snake in the grass. It sucks that he went elsewhere. It's not the biggest loss in the world since we have Govan at the 5 and some combination of White/Copeland/Derrickson (and maybe Mourning) at the 4. And we work better with stretch 4's anyway. But let's not act like he was some scrub. We'll need a 5 for '16 for sure now.

I am shocked, shocked to learn there is gambling going on here... Your winnings sir...

The situation sucks and that Billy Donovan is involved is an extra kick in the crotch. That being said, I wish Noah no ill and I'm glad it happened sooner rather than later.

Selfishly, I like "the more, the merrier", but I understand how that would not be the best situation for a recruit and that he would look elsewhere. The fact is we have a crowded 4 for 2015. He would have faced stiff competition from pretty good sophomores, freshmen and senior Bradley. Also, fact, we're looking for a top C in 2015. Who knows what went through Noah's mind, but he must have taken that into consideration.

If a kid this talented is scared off by the talent we have coming in, I think it is nothing but good news. Now let's go get an elite guard.

I guess Florida feels they have a right to anybody named Noah.

[Imagine a sports fan reacting irrationally to the whims of young recruits... I am shocked, shocked to learn there is gambling going on here... Your winnings sir... Meh, I mean do whatever you want. Just don't see what it's worth for people to convince themselves that a top 50 recruit wouldn't see the floor here when two months ago they were psyched about him coming here.

Question for you guys Are you aware of a recruit EVER decomitting from a basketball program and then ultimately going back to that program? I can't think of one example.

It doesn't happen super often, but it does happen. I'd guess at least once or twice a year for top 100 guys.

Quentin Snider (Louisville) and James Blackmon Jr.(Indiana) are good examples

It's a slightly different situation, but a few of St. John's players (including Obepka) announced transfers and then ultimately decided to stay at St. John's. Obviously, it's a different situation, but probably similarly rare.

I know nothing ....but if Donovan leaves, this could get interesting. We did part ways on good terms.

Who needs guards anyways
The way to get rid of the princeton offense stigma is to run the opposite: 5 in 1 out offense.
