Could have been said of AI for sure. But there's no one as athletically gifted as that guy was so it's sort of a pointless reference. I don't get the Wall one though. Really? Lack of feel for the game and decision making, values style over substance in passing, out of control when attacking pressure...these things were said about Wall in the NBA even.

I don't ever remember Wall being referred to as an undersized two guard. Also, he's always been praised for his ability to find teammates, especially on the break. I do, however, agree with the decision making part. Style over substance? Maybe at times but that applies to a lot of players now, no?

also wonder how much more athletic he would have been if the injury had not happened.... but if the injury did not slow him down, he would be rated as a top 5 player in the class with Kentucky and duke all over him It was a wrist injury nothing with his legs. He played the spring of his sophomore AAU season with a broken wrist and made it worse. So he sat at most of the summer part of the AAU season in 2014. That's why he went down in ranking.

Back to Woods.....kid is a combo guard who staff believes can run the show. Our backcourt will be set for a while with this kid. Looking like it's going to come down to one of the Carolinas or Georgetown.

It's fun to compare kids to Iverson, but they just seem like they are moving in slow motion in comparison.

Those things have never been said about John Wall. You must be talking about a different John Wall. That guy's been a pure elite point guard since word go. Only issue with him is shot consistency

It's fun to compare kids to Iverson, but they just seem like they are moving in slow motion in comparison. Agreed. For people to even mention AI as a comparison is a huge compliment to the player when talking about quickness. AI in his prime has no equal in that regard that I've ever seen and the margin is pretty large. Makes for fun conversations and conjures fond memories. I can, however, see other reasons for the AI comparisons with Seventh. His ability to get through traffic and finish being a smaller guy. His ability to get into passing lanes and get steals. He seems to have a real instinct for those things in the clips that I've seen. I can't tell, however, if he gambles like Allen did for steals. It cost Allen some of the time but many times he was so quick that he could recover. As much as his offensive game blew me away, his ability to recover on missed steals was crazy. As much as I love comparing players, we've been really lucky as Georgetown fans to have guys come in and become guys to which others are compared. AI, Jeff Green, Otto Porter. Those names get mentioned fairly often when talking about recruits and current players. Here's to hoping that Seventh comes in and, not too long from now, we'll be able to talk about a Georgetown recruit being a Seventh Woods-type player. To daymond, I didn't mean to argue if that's the way it came across. I just remembered the talk about Wall differently. That's all I meant to say. In the end, it doesn't matter. I think we're all hoping that young Mr. Woods becomes a Hoya. If that happens, there will be plenty of time to snipe at one another

How can that be? Surely he's heard all the astute analysts talking about the Princeton offense and our grind-it-out style...

“Georgetown is another school that plays at a fast pace,” he said. “They and Florida have both done a great job showing me that.”
I'm happy to hear from Woods because I know that is some of the lingo used to negatively recruit against JT3 and his Read and React Georgetown offense. "You don't want to go to Georgetown and walk the ball up the court and play in that slow system" is what opposing coaching staffs I'm sure have said in recruiting against Georgetown.
I hope he becomes a Hoya. Woods is the most complete guard compared to Curtis Jones and Bruce Brown. Pairing Woods with Mosely would make them the most athletic Georgetown backcourt tandem since AI & Victor Page. Actually any one of the 3 paired with Mosely would do that as Jones, Brown and Woods are all above average athletes with Woods being the most superior.

Great to hear!
And better yet, is that the staff makes efforts to show kids this. Might seem obvious, but still good to see they know the perceived knock against them and go to great pains to dispel it.
