Martin certainly acts like a lunatic on the sidelines, but he may well be charming and likable as a recruiter. That said, Michael Beasley is the most successful NBA player he's ever coached and he's on the borderline of the league despite being one of the 10 most talented players we've seen in the past decade. I'd wonder about that if I was a highly rated high schooler. He's not just a meathead. He was an Algebra teacher for 15 years. I think everything is calculated madness. And I'm not really a fan of the who has he produced in the NBA line of thinking because schools use that against us to say what point guards or combo guards have we produced in the NBA under the III era.

Martin may have recruited Beasley to K State and I give him credit for that but he did nothing in terms of development of his game. Beasley was a stud coming out of high school. It's hard for me to give any coach credit for developing anybody's game who' s only campus for 8 months and the coaches only work with them consistently for 6 months. He really just got out of Beasley way and let him do his thing while turning a blind eye to habitual habits that Beasley is known for having. Beasley's a tweener though physically. 6-8 power forward. I think that also hurt him alot from having success at the NBA level.

Beasley talent alone would of killed Draymond Green and Draymond just got paid $85 Million. Beasley's problems are off the court vices ala Ricky Williams and suffering from the same condition Carmello Anthony has and that is being allergic to playing defense.

And Martin didn't even get Beasley to KSU. That was Dalonte Hill.

A little bit interesting imo.. Is Martin worried about missing out on a ball handler for 2016?
White who's a 6-2 pg had a very good aau season which got him offers from some HM schools..

Best to have options in case. I agree 1000% Enj.. I feel a program should always have alternate plans.. ESPN had a write up today on what the "top" schools plans were for 2016 recruiting, when it came to UNC's plan the write up said this.. Obviously take it fwiw.. espn.go.com/blog/ncbrecruiting/on-the-trail/insider/post?id=14495The plan: Bradley was the critical first domino, not just because he’s an immediate impact player, but because Carolina needed a big name to say yes in the wake of their academic scandal. Now they want to build on that momentum and Seventh Woods, who is also considering South Carolina and to a lesser extent Georgetown, may be the closest to making a decision.

Sounds like someone just parroting what conventional wisdom is. No one knows about Seventh's feeling because he hasn't said anything about it.

Seventh Woods talks about great official visit to Georgetown Following two-plus hours of full court scrimmaging with teammates and others, Hammond’s Seventh Woods talked with us on Wednesday about his official visit this past weekend to Georgetown. Georgetown assistant coach Kevin Broadus was present for the entire session, an obvious sign that the Hoyas are making a hard push to land the ESPN Top 50 guard whose final three also include UNC and South Carolina.
Following our interview and subsequent off-camera conversation with Woods, we believe that his visit was a big enough success with the Skyhawk’s superstar guard that the Hoyas are legitimate contenders to land his services.Woods will visit UNC on the weekend of Sept. 25-27 and the hometown Gamecocks on Oct. 9-11 before making a final decision on his college choice. midlandshssports.com/seventh-woods-talks-about-great-official-visit-to-georgetown/#!prettyPhoto

No mention of Clemson in the interview which means he's pretty set with his final three. No immediate playing time at USC and why would anybody want to play at UNC with their on going issues. It's time to stop with the suspense and pop for GU.

See even from that interview. Seventh gives nothing away so anyone who says they know what he is thinking is making it up.

With CuJo off the board, we gotta land this guy. Too many swings and misses of late.

From the interview sounds like a solid UNC lean. Last 30 seconds of interview Woods was asked did anybody have advantage coming out of the Georgetown visit and he stated "Not to me! I don't think anyone has an advantage. Now If I go to UNC and they tell me some stuff, maybe it will be an advantage but right now I'm just keeping a level head." To me it sounds like he is UNC's to loose.

Regardless, I think this makes it even more imperative to push hard for Norvell...

I count six guards at USC vs three we have at GU, now I don't keep up with USC but I would think that he's going to have to play behind PJ for sure. He also mentioned the fact about playing in a big city, it appears he likes the liights.

If they get Syracuse like penalties then UNC becomes less attractive.

I seriously doubt that potential NCAA penalties against UNC has any influence on Woods decision. If it did, he would be looking to make a decision in the spring.

It isn't a given that he starts especially since Roy likes starting the upperclassmen over the freshmen no matter what. you may see a senior Nate Britt start.

Somehow, with serious violations occurring over nearly 2 decades and involving somewhere in the neighborhood of 3000 students (about half of which were athletes), there's still reports like this: www.sportingnews.com/ncaa-basketball/story/2015-07-06/unc-academic-scandal-cheating-ncaa-investigation-roy-williams-recruiting-sacha-killeya-jonesI don't think anyone believes the MBB program was not a part of the infractions but, seemingly, that's what the investigation is showing.
