Wouldn't it be exciting if Woods choose GU? Wow! Jones or Brown would also be great gets. Just thinking about the perception of Woods and his game, plus the type of kid he seems to be in his interviews. Given how strong the roster is from top to bottom currently, adding a kid like Woods would be "the cherry".
Let's hope it happens!

Cut Florida….USC Gtown or UNC No real surprise here! I wouldn't be surprised if makes a decision after his visit to Georgetown. To my knowledge, this is his first visit to the Hilltop and he's been to both UNC and S. Car a bunch of times. I could see him using his official visit to either of those schools for their MM if he was to commit to one of them. Anyone think Tony Bradley's commitment to UNC this week will have any impact on Wood's decision? I don't think it will because Wood's seems comfortable in his own skin and will make his own decision without any outside influence. I still believe it is between us and UNC as Woods seems to smart to play at S. Carolina. Anybody with any info?

I like that we're first. Maybe he doesn't need to take the other two.

I don't think he would start his first season at South Carolina with Thornwell and Dozier already in the backcourt, but there might be more local pressure for Woods to stay home than we know.

You may be on to something Carl.. Read recently where he's tight with Dozier also.. zagsblog.com/articles/seventh-woods-cuts-to-3-schools/When I asked Woods in July about his schools, he made a few comments on North and South Carolina. Georgetown was not heavily in the mix then.
Of North Carolina, he said, “They play at a fast pace and that’s what I like most.”
South Carolina is the local school. “That’s my home-state so I feel like I owe them something, so USC is always on my list,” he said.
Woods has visited the campus multiple time for games. “Yeah, I love it,” he said.
Wherever he goes, Woods could be a major factor. “Just attacking the basket and just running my team as a point guard,” he said.

Seventh has the athleticism and ability already. Hopefully he comes to the program on his final three that develops the most complete ballplayers. It's no secret that NBA coaches are often impressed by the guys that make it to next level coming out of Georgetown and their level of basketball acumen. You can't teach athleticism but you can teach fundamentals and how to read a developing play. We do that better than either of the other two schools on his list so if his eventual goal is to run a team at the next level, it's a no-brainer (no cracks in my blue and gray glasses).

I have a pretty good feeling about this one...we'll see. I hope you're right; I'd love to get this kid. However, many of us thought Dozier was too smart and mature to be interested in playing for a psychopath....and yet he did. Woods certainly seems mature, articulate, intelligent, and because of that I think we all project to why would he want to play for a verbally/physically abusive coach who can't coach. As "rational" adults we also assume that a kid who's supposedly interested in academics would never truly consider a school that engages in rampant academic fraud. With recruiting, things often don't seem logical or rational to those of us viewing from the outside. I think many times it comes down to comfort; personal relationships and how comfortable the recruit feels with the coaches, future teammates, and the campus. I think that comfort often trumps basketball and academic reasons. For those of us on the board, GU is the obvious choice because of academics, basketball reasons, and the integrity of the program and school. All we can do is hope this kid feels the same way....

Hard to compare Dozier's and Woods recruitment to University of South Carolina! Dozier is a University of South Carolina legacy kid. Both parents played basketball there, his sister was a freshman on the WBB team at the time of PJ's recruitment. I'm sure PJ was at least aware and included in the particulars during his sisters recruitment to Univ. of S Carolina. Woods doesn't have any of those family ties to the school. The only thing that Woods has in common with the school is location and as we see with recruits, staying home/local to go to school and play ball isn't anywhere close to a guarantee. Looking back at Dozier's recruitment, It was an extremely long shot to get him to go anywhere else other then his families school South Carolina. You look at Dozier's options from an academic, athletic and NBA as the final goal perspective, you have to agree he picked the worst option out of his final 5 schools. Dozier's decision was made partly because of the families relationship with the school!

Now a 4-star on Rivals: The only player to move down from five- to four-star status was Seventh Woods. An extreme athlete and big-time defender, the point guard from South Carolina slid down to No. 36 from No. 25 overall. If he can show development on the offensive end as a senior he could earn back that fifth star. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1796248
