I'm loving the way this is all playing out media-wise. The ESPN-Fox relationship can only be a good thing for us. We most definitely will not get the NHL treatment from ESPN.

Were there other articles on this that talked about the on-air talent the new network may use?

(Forgive me, I don't really feel like finding the article.) Yeah, I posted a story about Regis earlier in this thread the other day. Here's the most detailed info I can find: www.awfulannouncing.com/2013/february/everything-you-need-to-know-about-fox-sports-1.html

Ah, yes it was you who posted it. Guess you knew that already then. Other than that, I don't think we've heard anything else.

Another sign that Fox is fully committed. It will be interesting to see if the main Fox network promos Big East games at all during its regular shows. Would think they might in order to try to quickly grow the brand.

Would think they might in order to try to quickly grow the brand. Maybe not during The Mindy Project. But it would be pretty nice if they were to promote the new Big Monday during the NFC Championship, no? It also makes some sense that Fox might encourage the Big East to do a little conference preview in early December this year - 1 or 2 games for each school before the holidays, promoted off the NFL telecasts. I know the ACC has played some conference games this early recently, and I seem to recall the Big East doing so many years ago, but I can't remember the last conference game GU played before Christmas.

Fox Sports and their parent will be promoting the heck out of their new all sports channel and the new BE in particular. They've made a serious commitment to both - channel and conference. And they know the competition - ESPN. I'm expecting a huge push on their other channels, their papers and outside media too. But if the Regis story is true, that is NOT good news.

You're trading Skip Bayless for Regis Philbin. I'd say thats quite a good thing.

Maybe Homer Simpson and Josh Smith can get in a fight over a doughnut as a bottom screen banner ad during a family guy episode to promote the new sports channel. He could be fox's next lovable fat guy.
