I think we should rush the court if we break fifty. If we beat them, the students should march to the White House again.

No definitely not. The only scenario I can see validly rushing the court would be winning a game at the last second to win the Big East title against Syracuse to end the year. And even then only if it's buzzer beater.

NO. NEVER. the court is for players, and the stands are for fans.

Rushing the court would be DFW's first sing of the "Gtown as Holy Cross" apocalypse.
The only way that Gtown ever gets to rush the court again is if:
1) The team sucks for a really really long time (like what happend to IU) and then beats an undefeated #1 team on a last second shot (like what happened to IU). (GUvDuke in 06 counts for this too even though it wasnt a last second shot, but the FF the next year raises the bar).
Or
2) For some reason the NCAA decides to have the national championship game at Verizon center and the Hoyas win it on the home court.
Otherwise dont even think about it.
And for the record I am against NCstate having rushed against Duke. That team made the sweet 16 last year!

With the way gtown and Lville have played this season(they are thrashing UConn on the road), we might be bigger underdogs against Lville this year then we were against duke in 2006....

Would a big home win over Cuse at the end of the season at Verizon warrant a court rush? Last time playing them in the reg. season?

Would a big home win over Cuse at the end of the season at Verizon warrant a court rush? Last time playing them in the reg. season? This is a unique scenario (assuming we don't schedule them any more), so I would have no problem with the students rushing the court. As for Louisville? Ne way.

I'm just hoping that Boeheim doesn't pull some if we lose and say "the big east is officially closed"

If it's to finish middle of the pack in the BE?? whyyyy??!! I really can't believe we're discussing this. Nothing says "your program hasn't made it" like an inappropriate court rush.

IMO, this stuff is overanalyzed. "You can only rush the court if you're unranked and beat a top 5 team. Unless you're usually a top 25 team, in which case you can't. Unless it's on a last minute shot. But if you're ranked and it's a last minute shot, it's not ok. And it can't be just a last minute shot, it has to be at the buzzer...." Yada yada yada. It really shouldn't require this much analysis or rules-based logic. And people who look down their noses when some student section somewhere rushes the court are the worst. Every undergrad wants their turn to do it. The casual undergrad just wants to go to the game and have fun with friends, and isn't worrying about (or aware of) the program's historical reputation. Now and again kids get caught up in the moment and run out their to celebrate with their team. As long as nobody gets hurt, who cares? Nothing worse than the internet dweebs who are all "OMG are you serious they rushed the court for that?! " It's just kids having fun, come off the high horse and stop acting like its such a big deal or that it says anything at all about the history of the program. Although I suppose if you were going to boil it down to one rule, it'd be this--if you have to ask, the answer is no. When it's the right moment, there won't be any doubt.
