This thread is half the length of Dozier or Skal. Who? Never heard of them. I only know about Govan and Derrickson.

I really can't wait for Jessie to get here. He's a throwback for us in a good way. And Jessie's from NY have been tough as nails for us.

Kid is going to have to jump in and contribute immediately. He along with Hayes are going to play an important role in the middle.

He needs to average more than 10 mpg this year to prepare him for next year. First things first, make sure his healthy (the boot?)!

Welcome Jessie! I hope you're focused on fighting for minutes next year! Barring some unforeseen circumstances, my guess is Govan starts at the 5 from day 1.

Govan, a 6-foot-10 four-star recruit who averaged 21 points and 13 rebounds per game last year, was recruited heavily by the likes of UConn, Seton Hall and Louisville, among others. He verbally committed to Georgetown last May, drawn to the Big East school because of its habit of developing NBA big men and the close bond he felt with the coaching staff and his future teammates on the visit. “It’s a big man’s school,” he said. “Their tradition made me want to go there.” Perhaps the two future Division I players started a Wings tradition on Friday. Turnage certainly hopes that will be the case. “You don’t get a lot of Division I kids out of The Bronx,” Govan said. “For Wings Academy to get two of them is great.” nypost.com/2014/11/15/two-d-i-signings-and-the-one-man-behind-bronx-hss-success/

Can we change the title now that Govan has signed his LoI?

So not worried about him coming in and contributing next year. I'm not worried but we can't expect him to take both Josh and Hopkins' roles. Hopefully all our current freshman realize their sophomore leap.

Both Copeland and White appear to be players leaning more in the versatile SF mold, rather than the traditional power PF mold. In addition, there is no on-court evidence yet that Hayes has taken meaningful steps forward. I think Derrickson probably translates more to SF vs. PF.
Not exactly sure what that means for recruiting, but perhaps another true Pf/C is needed next year to pair with Govan next season. Also need the elusive PG to provide some depth with Tre.
The Noah Dickerson loss sure hurts as it turns out. I think he is more of a bruising PF that could effectively back-fill the Hopkins departure.
