Old news, but I didn't realize Myles Davis, who chose Xavier over GU, is ineligible this year. Kind of bizarre story -- why are he and Cassell's kid ineligible while other kids at ND Prep who took the same courses are not? Link

for me (excluding Kylan and Nerlens) the biggest one that got away was Dotson. This guy is a bonafide top freshman in college basketball. He has taken over games for oregon in the final minutes and looks more poised than any freshman i have seen all season. He is going to be a great player for however long he stays at oregon

Dotson is Oregon's leading scorer. Did he actually have much interest in us? He had a poor game against UCLA until the last few minutes, when he made a big 3 and a few free throws.

He's basically the entire offense on a not-very good team. He's got huge usage rates and a large assist rate -- but a high turnover rate and he can't shoot from outside. How much does he play for us? How much does he need the ball to be productive? He's not better than Markel right now, or Otto, and while he can get his shot and create much better than DSR, DSR converts at a better rate. It's tough to tell if he would get more efficient as he dialed back the usage at GU and really add someone who can get to the rim -- the ideal scenario -- or whether he needs to dominate the ball. Which would not work so well. That said, long term, we'll regret not getting him. But while his skillset is something we miss, I'm not sure freshman Semaj Christon is that much use to a pretty good team. He's much more useful to a team with no real options.

I think with Semaj it's "grass is greener". He's not the missing piece. Like you mentioned, it's impossible to tell if he would be more efficient in our offense, BE, etc... Although it would be something to see a GU guard slash like him (and like Bowen flashed in December), we'll be good with Markel, Jabril and DSR, plus Bowen & GW. The missing piece is the C...

Dont mean to be a Debbie Downer but can we move this to Pro & College sports. As much as I do enjoy seeeing how these previous recruits are doing, they are not Hoyas.

Still a college basketball thread discussing players that we tried to recruit and how it affects/ didn't affect our team... Makes for an interesting convo at the very least

Fairly pedestrian numbers for him, averaging only one more rb per game than DSR.

Fairly pedestrian numbers for him, averaging only one more rb per game than DSR. Must. Not. Compare him. To. Hopkins. Ugh, can't resist. He's averaging almost 2 rebounds more per game. Two fewer ppg on the same amount of shots though
