I will try to get down from Baltimore with my girlfriend (fiancee by then hopefully). In other news, South Carolina had over 6K this week and they are getting to host the 2nd round game no matter who wins the UNLV-ASU game. www.thestate.com/mld/thestate/11163200.htmThe winner of the game at SC Tuesday would get the winner of our 2nd round game. Don't know that they could turn down sending us or whomever we play to SC if they get similar attendance in the 2nd round.

Oh man this is great. It's like its not a school night because Im taking off the next morning. McDonough is gonna be crazy, and I dont think theres any way that anybody can come in there and take us. It may be small, but if we're packed in there like sardines it should really be a benefit for the team. The fact that its right here on campus bodes well for popularity in the future-- some people may give it a try simply because they dont have to venture to MCI, and when the environment is great and the guys play well, we'll expand our fanbase.
Wooohoo, Im pumped already, and Im gonna go to work-study late tomorrow to make sure I get my tickets.

One of my favorite random GU stats, I think I used it after the San Jose State game:
Georgetown is undefeated at McDonough Arena since January 20, 1982.
So there's THAT to play for.

Refresh my memory - it's been too long. About how often does the G2 bus leave Dupont Circle and how long does it take to get to campus?
Would I be better off cabbing it from Roslyn or Foggy Bottom the time of day a game would probably be?

Wow. Great news, let's hope whoever bribed the Fire Marshall back in '81 for the Mizzou game is still in the Athletic Dept, it would be nice to have 5,000 people there.

Plus, the other three teams in our bracket are what I call "Classic NIT" teams--Arizona State, UNLV, and South Carolina. If the lease with MSG runs out, the NIT should just hold the final four at the Thomas & Mack Center. Those three arenas are pretty convenient venues. I guess I can live with that - pass it every day and work about 50 yards from the Thomas & Mack Center.

First - in answer to an inquiry above (based on personal experience at games in the mid sixties) - yes, if you jam it full of crazy people - you can make McD shake. Second, if we don't have people literally hanging from the rafters on Tuesday, I never want to hear another word about needing an new on-campus arena for basketball. Yes, the need might be there for the facility for graduation, concerts, etc., but if you can't jam 3000 people in the current place for a post season game------- Just to add another bit of nostalgia for the old timers, if this was 40 years ago - regular season - we just might have had the freshman team playing Dematha or some other local power as our warm-up game.

That Columbia team actually had 2 great players (Dobson was the other) and I think the final score was something like 74-71 Hoyas. It was and remains the loudest I have ever heard an arena event. I hope to be there on Tuesday. I may take my future son-in-law.

So i've been trying to get through to the Hoya ticket office for the last 20 minutes to no avail...unreal. Do they have one phone set up? It took me less time to get through ticketmaster for U2 tickets.
This is ridiculous...at least they could put you on hold or something.

Of course, but I'm selfish. And I'm debating whether you or Sean Penn has a better sense of humor. Right now, I'm going with you, but I think Sean is gaining. haha hilarious SFHoya - sean penn is such a [edit]
