I would never make the case that religion is not an industry.
But at the same time, I don't think any schools in the UC system have 27 different vice chancellors for God.

In the UC system, no. But at Georgetown and many other schools...
The areligiosity of public colleges is also a relatively new development. Attendance at weekly chapel was mandatory at West Point until the 60s, for instance, with all the associated costs that incurs (the continuing existence of chaplains as uniformed personnel, rather than outside contractors, continues to be a hotly debated topic in military circles).
I'm guessing Jack recently welcomed a new addition to his family?
